Rifle Scopes Conquest or 4200 elite

Re: Conquest or 4200 elite

The 4200's are pretty decent scopes. The Rainguard is a nice feature.

But in my opinion the Zeiss is better. And easily worth the $100 more. I think Conquest glass is better. Better view, brighter, sharper...

Aside from optical quality being better, I would get it over the 4200 on the basis that the Zeiss has an etched reticle, not a wire reticle. That means the Zeiss reticle always stays nice and black all the time. Many wire reticles brighten up from the reflection of light when the sun is to your rear. I really hate that. Some do that even when the sun isn't to your back.

I won't buy any non-etched reticle optic again.

I too don't like this side effect of a wire reticle scope.

Buy the Zeiss, you won't be disappointed. I've had both scope and the 4200 doesn't come close im my opinion, regarding build quality, adjustments and glass. The glass to me on the 4200 had quite a bit of aberration that while load developing is quite annoying when trying to acquire the same POI, on white. I ditched the 4200 at a loss, but I'm okay with that.

To me Rainguard was the only likeable feature about the Bushnell.
