Curious if any smiths have converted aero solus prefits to work on a ARC CDG action.

Looks like you just need to cone the breach, thread the tenon more and probably touch up the chamber a little.

If it is possible, is that a pain to do? I’ve got a couple solus barrels and a cdg action.

Just looking at prints it should be possible to chop .130" off the tenon length and cut the counterbore cone and ream the chamber .203" deeper to set the headspace though. You shouldn't have to pick up a thread since the Solus tenon is longer than the CDG.

Sell barrel, put a new barrel on the CDG. Don't stack a bunch of tolerances atop one another by turning an origin tenon into a CDG unless you just part off the 0.980 solus tenon and start new threads leaving half the old chamber there. At least at this point the new reamer will clean up all the old chamber if it's same cartridge.

Ya sell iot, you dont know the quality of the chamber job on the existing so you would be stuck with the same quality unless you cut alot more than .130, the .980 suggestion makes more sense since you could bore it back straight if it wasnt indicated well as it sits.
Love the CDG action by the way. two thumbs up.
