Gunsmithing Converting to Detachable Box Magazine

I noticed that recently Savage has released a couple of their preceding models i.e. 10FP McMillan, 10FP HS Precision. That prior, had internal box magazines. But now are available with detachable box magazines.


Is it possible (if anyone has done it) to convert a pre DBM model per say one with a McMillan stock, over to DBM?

If so what all is involved in doing so?

CDI has started offering some Savage DBM kits that use AI mags

Edit: Duh, I found them finally

How difficult would it be to mill out the area in the stock for the magazine to pass through? Is there any type of reinforcement in there that I would have to deal with?

Its worth the $60 bux to have them do it....
