Not a "tactical" rifle of course, but I know a lot of you guys hunt and hell, everyone can appreciate a finely crafted rifle...

Got my custom lightweight Cooper 25-06 in and am so stoked about it!

Thanks for posting. I have a few Coopers as well and like them a lot. Every one of mine has been easy to work up a very good load.

I especially like the Jackson Game stock on your rifle.

what type of bases/rings are those?

Looks like Talley one piece base and ring combo.

That is a thing of beauty. one of my favorite calibers as well. you have a load for it already? If not PM and I'll share a good one for all around.

It looks great. I like the extra checkering on the back of the wrist. Cooper seems to have an idea or two about nice wood on a rifle. I have been jonesing for a model 54 classic in .250 sav, just a matter of having enough $$.

Absolutely beautiful rifle. I like lightweight shooters. The stock is gorgeous.

You should have had them use Burris Zee rings and shim the base.

Target weight was between 6.5-7
Ended up being 6.66, Mike from Cooper dubbed it "diablo"
Went with a slimmer barrel profile and stock as well as by putting hollow chambers in the wood.

It just feels so right and he nailed the feel I was looking for.
Told him I liked the feel of old Sako from the 50s/60s
I have a '59 243 that I just love and my dad has a '66 custom in 22-250

As for loads I havent started yet, awaiting the scope (Swarovski z3 3-10 BRH)
I have loaded for the 25-06 before but open to ideas

Have samples from Nosler, Federal and Black hills to shoot before starting on development work


As for rims/bases it came with Warner steel bases but I really like the Talley LWs for a hunting rifle. Used them on several rifles and try have been flawless

Very Nice! I like the idea of hollowing out chambers in the stock. I have a 280 AI Jackson Hunter w/ flutted stainless barrel and bolt that I love but it os a bit heavy compared to my Kimbers. The thing piles them up at the range though.

Just noticed the schnabel forend. Nice touch! You don't see many Coopers with those.

I have several Cooper rifles and find them to be great shooters. I have always preferred heavies in it and use Sierra's 120HPBT behind Reloder25. It gives me a bit over 3100fps in the 24" tube and hits hard.

thats funny. the rifle looks awesome. ive always been curious about the coopers. they seem to be really reasonably priced for a custom rifle, but you dont really hear a ton about them. i want to see the range report for sure.

I like the Talley light weights too. I have them on several rifles (in addition to the Talley steel QD's). They make a solid product. Just be sure you don't try to lap those LW rings with compound. The aluminum will pick up/get embedded with the grit and you'll scratch up you scope for sure. I have not found the need to lap them as of yet, anyway. Again get looking rifle!
