cops want to revoke my firearms permits

Re: cops want to revoke my firearms permits

Im going to a nice gun friendly state. where I can own and possess and carry legitimately and legally, where I dont as a law abiding citizen get hassled and harassed by the local police. Im going to a state where the local police recognise and encourage me as a law abiding citizen to exercise my rights to own and possess firearms...

Its such a pity I cant do this in the country of my birth !

Re: cops want to revoke my firearms permits

FYI

my collection is safely locked in storage of a local RFD.. where the police cant get it. It unfortunately has to stay there until this is resolved.

Re: cops want to revoke my firearms permits

I admire your tenacity. Fighting for principle can be expensive and the power of the state is immense.
Sometime U win and really don't...

I can just see you immigrating to the US and the local constabulary will not let U out with your collection because U don't have an export permit
smile.gif

I have once fought for a principle and wound up on the end ofa Federal lawsuit, cost $100,000+ in legal fees, three years of Federal court time---- and finally a Federal Judge threw out the case....did I really win?

Everyone said good 4 U..but they admitted they would never do it themselves.

Amen!

I'd sponsor you as a non-citizen shooter in our club too...

True that leaving isn't going to change jack and then they've won (sorta) however constantly being under fire legally for absolutely no wrong doing has some serious mental and physical strains involved.

ETA: PA is suppressor and MG friendly, CCW is a Right to Carry state, meaning that as long as you are here legally and can pass the background check to posess a firearm legally the PA law guarantees your right to carry a concealed firearm.

To answer someone else's question:

To my knowledge EventHorizon purchased his first EVER firearm once he was a resident of the horrid state of California. It only took a year of prodding by me to move to a gun friendly state (PA). He's already purchased a suppressor

Re: cops want to revoke my firearms permits

eddieo,

I will not comment on your issue because I have no base of knowledge, but one piece of advice: be very careful in choosing your words posted on a publicly viewed forum. I am not saying that you are wrong or right, or your local PD is wrong or right. I am also not saying that you have already said anything outrageous; avoid posting while you are spun up.

Just be careful, if they are attempting to make you out to be a deranged lunatic with a bad temper and a capacity to mow down half the town as reason to seize your firearms, then be mindful not to build their case.

Point to note: If he moved to the US (and could afford the extortionate VISA/investment programme fees) he would not be entitled to any firarm ownership at all. Hes a foreign national.

Ireland has a lot going for it,..its his country and he believes its worth stnding up for.

</div></div>

As others have said here, as long as you are here legally its not hard to legally obtain firearms. I moved here from Canada for school, and have purchased two firearms. This is with a student visa. I'll be moving to Texas in January as a resident of this country, look forward to really expanding my collection!

eddio should have no problems purchasing firearms here if he decides to pursue that route. Keep up the good fight over there eddieo!

Re: cops want to revoke my firearms permits

Update ; at a hearing last Friday the judge was shown clear evidence of he police here illegally altering documents . The judge described it as " disturbing new evidence " . Their credibility at the mOnent is literally shit to pieces . Pardon the pun ! A good day for shooters in Ireland .

However all involved have been subjected to some extreme harassment as a result . They don't like being caught out lying . It's really sad because I used to have a lot of respect for the cops here . They have shown themselves out to be liars and cheats .

I myself have been accosted in the street with my kids and called a rat and other names I won't mention . I'm simply collecting the details and passing the details to my lawyer . I have also been physically threatened by cops with violence as a result of my proceedings . On one occasion I managed to record the threats on my iPhone . The internal affairs were appalled when I played it for them .

Will update further as and when I can but suffice to say that things are going very well. Personally speaking I would like to are an end to it to just get back shooting and doing the things I love . But they started this and I'm going to finish it .

Re: cops want to revoke my firearms permits

If I was him I wouldn't be posting on here about events. Any Intel made public can be used in court or otherwise.

Didn't your attorney tell you not to post online? Also a FBook page sounds like a really bad idea if your posting court information online. It may be a good insurance policy to have so you don't end up with a hood over your head in a dark room though.

If anyone can answer me what was one of the greatest slight of hand tricks played by Romnel during the first attack at El Alaimen against Montgomery they will understand the logic behind the posts ! Lol

Re: cops want to revoke my firearms permits

I have said it before and I will say it again . You people in the US have your right to bear arms enshrined on the constitution . Protect it and cherish it . If you don't you will have to go through things like in going through at this moment .

Mark my words this is a threat to us all that own and use firearms lawfully . If you are not careful the same will happen to you !

Re: cops want to revoke my firearms permits

Eddieo,
I am ecstatic to hear that you've won. We here are curious to learn what the punishments are for 'them'.

Not the settlements, just the punishments. How many got fired over this, etc?

So maybe now we'll see more of you here again? Been pretty quiet without the usual 'Friday, whatcha doing?' threads. Not to mention, the commentary.

Re: cops want to revoke my firearms permits

Sean not only have we won but the combined action of a great team of lawyers and a right thinking and sensible judge have shown what can be accomplished when we work together .

To be perfectly honest this isn't a victory for me . It's a victory for all shooters and more importantly a victory for common sense . I only hope they will learn a lesson from this and start treating us like the law abiding citizens we are and not a bunch of criminals .

So sunny California is out of the question???

Congrats on your success.

Re: cops want to revoke my firearms permits

That is impressive that you won, and did not give up. They certainly picked on the wrong man. I suspect that the police may be learning to stay clear of you. Perhaps not today, but eventually all this persistence will pay off in a bigger way.

So what happened?
Inquiring minds want to know...

Re: cops want to revoke my firearms permits

Sunny California is definitely not On my list !

The old saying " from the frying pan into the fire " comes to mind ....lol

The cops are currently in " talks " with our legal reps in some other outstanding issues !

Should have more good news to report shortly !

Re: cops want to revoke my firearms permits

Dr Phil : the police here were forced to admit that they illegally altered documentation AFTER legal proceedings had been initiated . It was done by senior officers . They were caught out trying to cover up their existing lies .

As my Dear Mother once said to me . A good liar needs a very good memory . Nobody has that good a memory . The judge was appalled ! It was blatant and illegal .

Nobody looking for blood ! We are just loOking to be treated fairly which they haven't been doing ..... We aren't the enemy and hat they must understand .

Will they learn a lesson ! Hell knows !

your very right and this is something the majority of americans do not cherish

Dia dhuite, my friend. I'm a 15 year ex-pat from Dublin, and all I know is that the paranoia surrounding guns is rampant in the homeland. I get a shitload of it every time I go back to visit, or family comes here. Most of 'em have never even held (let alone shot) a gun either.

If the regular Gardaí can't be armed, then surely an armed citizen is a terrorist! You're probably just lucky the Guards have not opened their own Gitmo in An Spidéal, or somewhere.

Best of luck.

Re: cops want to revoke my firearms permits

Awsome!!!!

Let us know what the final verdict is, regarding 'outcomes' and whatnot. I'm very interested to hear who gets penalized and to what extent.

As far as I'm concerned, there are many who should lose their careers over this debacle.

Re: cops want to revoke my firearms permits

No idea on the final legal bill . Its certainky going to make their eyes water when it comes in .

There have been things goin on in the background that I don't want to comment on for operatiOnal reasons .

We got now to deal with 52 further cases due to be heard in the district court on a variety of issues . See how they go . Hoping for least resistance don 5.O but prepared for another battle is we encounter resistencec.

I tell you one thing they ain't happy ! We are prepared for retaliatory strikes which we can't rule out . Senior people have been exposed and embarrassed .

Everyone is on their guard !

Re: cops want to revoke my firearms permits

update:

This morning in the district court the police withdrew rather embasassingly for them objections to 57 cases involving issues of denials of permits and revokations of firearms of law abiding citizens...

They are hurting badly over the high court cases..

57 happy firearm license holders today...

Re: cops want to revoke my firearms permits

Good Job!

I can tell you that nothing sickens me more than seeing those who are sworn to uphold the law stepping on the rights of the people.

Sounds like you went about this the right way and used your legal system the way it was intended.

Many of us here remember history and are very thankful for our rights. Especially the one that ensures the others.

Re: cops want to revoke my firearms permits

Mac not sure . I'm certainly not about to take the credit . We had a brilliant lawyer who is passionate about gun rights . Got a really sensible judge and a judge that was very fair . He really didn't like it when we brought it up about altering documentation.

We had lots of people working away in the background silently giving a lot of help .

It's a victory for common sense and goes to show what can be accomished if people stand up for their rights

It's not finished yet . We are issuing civil proceedings against certain officers for harassment amongst other things . This ain't over for me by a long shot . The harassment I had to put up with was really quite sickening. One evening a police vehicle drove by my car when it was parked with me sitting in it and spat over my windscreen . Absolutely disgusting ! Another time when coming out of a local store with my 8 year old son a police car slowed down and both officers yelled " there goes the rat " . I replied " yeah the rat that has your vehicle registration number !

Oh no this certainly ain't over . By the time I'm finished I'm going to end the careers of quite a few of them !

Re: cops want to revoke my firearms permits

Just left my lawyer after a late meeting !

He is a man never to use emotive language when he speaks but apparently I have cost one police Superintendent his promotion and possibly his job !

Apparently they are running around in a Quote " Blind Panic Like Headless Chickens "

I replied " When they start saying nice things about me then I'm really gonna start worrying " . LOL

Gives me a nice warm fuzzy feeling in keeping them awake at night !

Re: cops want to revoke my firearms permits

Stick it to them brother. You are not only entitled to your rights, also compensation for your time and harassment issues, and all legal fees. Stick it to them. Then move on over where you can enjoy your rights without concern of retribution. Glad to hear this is all working out for you.

Re: cops want to revoke my firearms permits

Ramrod

I'm finishing off things here and I'm out of here with the family !

I'm a proud law abiding Irishman but I'm sick of the constant harassment . They ain't beat me but I figure quite simply that there are places like Texas that would appreciate what' I have to offer . The payout from the harassment lawsuit should see me right for a lOng time to come with no mortgage to worry about .

Besides there are states in the USA that I feel would embrace me and the family and respect my rights more do than my own country .

And believe me it makes me sad tO say that !
