I'm looking to chamber a new 223 barrel to shoot Berger 85.5gr Hybrid target bullets out of my long range bolt gun. I'm looking to single feed the rounds.

Does anyone shoot this bullet? If so, how much freebore do you have and does it allow you to load the rounds long enough so that the bearing surface in front of the shoulder neck junction? I am not turning my brass so I don't want to worry about doughnuts affecting my neck tension.

Any help would be greatly appreciated before I order my reamer?

Your best bet would be to call Berger.

I know this is not what you are looking for but it will give you some insight into their thinking about freebore and bullet jump.

Bullet jump and chamber freebore are inter-related in a complicated way.

My usual solution is to load a few dummy rounds with the bullet base at the bottom of the neck and let my smith figure out which reamer to use.
