Ok here’s why there’s no data sheet. The M863 is (was) a milspec tube. Milspec tubes don’t have data sheets, none of them do. They either hit the specs of that Omni or they do not. Usually the only numbers you will find out on a milspec tube is the FOM or “figure of merit”. Figure of merit is a number comprised from a conglomeration of specifications such as EBI, SNR, res etc... the higher the better.
Now the reason the tube is more “grass like” green is because. Omni 1,2&3 used p-20 phosphor color whereas 4& up (except white phosphor) are p-43 phosphor color. A rule of thumb is if your looking at a tube and trying to figure out what it is, if it’s the darker green it’s omni 3 or below or you could possibly have a gen 2.
Also, you said the tube is pretty bright. It may seem that way by itself but if you do a side to side comparison to a omni iv you will notice really quick that it’s not as bright as you thought. The reason because the term often heard in the i2 world “thin film”. Omni 1-3 didn’t have thin film. They learned that the film thickness being reduced actually allows more light to pass through, therefore making it brighter. So to my knowledge from Omni 4 & up are “thin film”.
I think so anyway lol
