Because these surrogate citizens are smart. Their IQ, on average, is 10-15% higher than the general population. That may not seem like a lot, but consider that the in gambling casinos, the house odds run only 2% and they always win in the long run.

They have taken controll of the media, which influences public opinion, and while have only 2% of the population represent aproximately 7% of the House and 13% of the Senate.

The falling part isn't really the tough part (no disrespect to the brave souls that must do the job, obviously). It's that whole rebuilding thing that takes so much time, money, and human life.

People seem to forget that we didn't just kick ass in WWII and walk away; the US was spending a couple percent of GDP per year for several years to rebuild Europe after the fighting stopped. And that was for a region that already had a strong history of healthy economic activity.

meh, just a long drawn out air/ground war...we use the air, and bomb the living daylights out of the ground they are on. We do it until they capitulate. Same for China or anyone else. If we have learned one thing from stupid shock and awe, yes, STUPID, it is you do not make a war like that then have to survive a backfighting action against insurgencies. The use of air power to pound the daylights out of the enemy over a period of months, not days, missles from ships, rockets, whatever. Push buttons. Kids can do that for a year straight, just like a video game. Sooner or later they will beg us to stop bombing them. I think anyone who believes we need to weed out the bad guys and build a nation for the good guys has blinders on.

The first is patently impossible, and the second is supreme arrogance and also not our job.

Insanity is defined as repeating the same unproductive practices while expecting new, productive results.

That has been the methodology of our government for at least the last half century, whether it's about fighting foreign enemies, ending gun violence with gun control, or resolving social ills with welfare checks.

If the solutions to such problems were political, for God's sake, shouldn't we have solved everything long time past?

Forget politics. It doesn't work, and only the obsessed can't see it. Maybe the self deluded fit in there somewhere, too.

If America wants itself to work, it needs to stop paying folks not to. Sounds funny coming from a guy who lives solely on a VA Disability Pension and some Social Security, but in my case, and the cases of the rest of the folks who are doing what I do, I don't spend a penny I didn't earn and pay times over for in advance, one way of another.

If America want to stop foreign enemies from attacking, it needs to understand that tacit acceptance of killers in their midst makes 'innocent populations' into willing participants. There are no innocent bystanders, there are merely cowardly tacit enablers. I understood than when I saw it in 'Nam, and it's been same, same since then, everywhere else we've been sending our young human sacrifices into harm's way

Gun violence and gun control? We've already had that conversation. Those who are not too blind to see because they refuse to look already know the score there.

The thing I don't understand is why folks insist on playing the government game when it's clearly little beyond distraction and misdrection. Elections are <span style="font-style: italic">not</span> important beyond the obscenely huge cashflows the generate.

They haven't been important since the 1930's, and this one, least of all. Neither side will give us what we need, and that's good, I don't want anything they could give me that I don't already have.

I just want my governement to get out of the way.

Since when has it become the sworn duty of our elected representation to stand and declare to us what things we may no longer have, and we may no longer do? Tails and dogs come to mind.

That is why Paul doesn't want us to be drawn into this. I fear there will be significant terrorist act, on our soil or on US citizens, to get popular support to this beyond the 30 cent/gallon price increase. I was hoping Israel would take care of this, but once things start happening, Iranian supporters such as Russia and China (and maybe North Korea) will "force" us to get involved. Just like the sinking of the Lucitania, the bombing of Pearl Harbor, and 9/11 we will see something to get us involved.

Israel Blames Iran for Attacks in India and Georgia
By ISABEL KERSHNER and MICHAEL SCHWIRTZ

JERUSALEM — Bombers targeted Israel embassy workers in the capitals of India and Georgia on Monday, detonating a device that destroyed an Israeli diplomatic car in New Delhi and planting an explosive on an Israeli diplomat’s vehicle in Tbilisi that was defused. Israeli leaders accused Iran of responsibility for the attacks, which left at least two people in the Indian blast hospitalized.

Iran denied responsibility, asserting Israel had committed the attacks itself to smear the Iranians. But if the Israeli accusations are verified they would represent Iran’s first confirmed retaliation for a series of recent attacks in Iran aimed at killing Iranian atomic scientists and sabotaging Iran’s disputed nuclear program, the source of rising tensions between Iran and the West. Iran has said it would avenge those attacks, which it has blamed on Israel.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel said the bombing in India and attempted bombing in Georgia were part of what he called a campaign of terrorism by Iran and the Iranian-backed Lebanese militant group, Hezbollah, aimed at Israel, which Iran regards as an implacable enemy.

“In the past few months we have witnessed several attempts to attack Israeli citizens and Jews in a number of places — Azerbaijan, Thailand and others,” Mr. Netanyahu said in a statement. “In each of those cases we managed to thwart the attacks with the cooperation of local officials. In all of those cases, those who stood behind the attacks were Iran and its proxy, Hezbollah.”

Mr. Netanyahu confirmed that an Israeli woman was among the two people injured in New Delhi and that the attempted bombing in Georgia was against a local employee of the Israeli Embassy there. Israel Radio reported that the injured woman was the wife of the Israeli Defense Ministry attaché at the embassy in New Delhi. A doctor at the hospital where she was taken said that shrapnel had penetrated her spine and liver and that she was undergoing spinal surgery. “Iran, which stands behind these attacks, is the biggest exporter of terrorism in the world,” Mr. Netanyahu said, adding, “We will continue to act with a strong arm, methodically and patiently, against international terrorism that originates from Iran.”

Photos posted online by an Indian journalist who witnessed the blast in New Delhi said the force of the explosion hurled a woman riding in the car out of the vehicle and across the road, where bystanders helped her before an ambulance arrived. Star News, an Indian television station, quoted police officers as saying a motorcyclist tailing the vehicle, a silver Toyota Innova minivan, had slapped a magnetic bomb on the car’s rear — the same method used to kill an Iranian scientist in Tehran last month.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry, rejecting Israel’s accusations, said through a spokesman that “Israel has bombed its embassies in New Delhi and Tbilisi to tarnish Iran’s friendly ties with the host countries,” the official Islamic Republic News Agency reported. The spokesman, Ramin Mehmanparast, also said “Israel perpetrated the terrorist actions to launch psychological warfare against Iran.”

Paul Hirschson, a spokesman for Israel’s Foreign Ministry, was earlier quoted by Reuters as saying that in both cases, the people targeted worked in the Israeli embassies of India and Georgia. He said that a bomb found in a car belonging to a staff member at Israel’s Embassy in the Georgian capital had been defused by the local police.

The incidents came a day after the fourth anniversary of the killing of Imad Mugniya, a top Hezbollah commander whose sport utility vehicle was blown up by a powerful bomb in the Syrian capital of Damascus.

Mr. Mugniya had been sought by the United States for his alleged role in terrorist attacks that killed hundreds of Americans in the 1980s. Israel held him responsible for Hezbollah military operations in southern Lebanon from the mid-1990s. Israel officially distanced itself from the killing but was widely suspected of involvement in it.

Iran has been saying publicly it would avenge the killings of Iranian scientists. At least five scientists with connections to Iran’s disputed nuclear program have been killed under mysterious circumstances since 2007, the most recent last month.

As news of the New Delhi blast trickled in, Israel’s foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman, told reporters, “Without going into details, we can identify exactly who is responsible for the bombing and we will not let it go unanswered.”

Yigal Palmor, the Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman, said that Israel was “looking into the incidents,” adding, “cooperation with the local security forces is excellent.”

In Washington, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton condemned the attacks on embassy personnel and said the United States was “ready to assist with any investigation of these cowardly actions.”

Hezbollah maintains strong ties to Iran and Syria. Last month, amid public warnings from the United States and Israel of a possible terrorist attack, Thai officials said that they had arrested a Lebanese man believed to be a member of Hezbollah in connection with a plot to strike tourists in Bangkok. Thai officials said that the arrest came after weeks of coordination with Israel.

In New Delhi, Indian officials said both the driver and the wife of an Israeli diplomat were injured in the blast which occurred close to the embassy, The Associated Press reported.

“They are in the hospital and being tended to,” an Indian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Syed Akbaruddin, told The A.P.

Around 9 p.m., Dr. Deep Makkar, head of international patients at Primus Super Specialty Hospital in New Delhi’s diplomatic enclave, said she was in the first hour of a three-hour operation.

Over the long term, he said, “She may have some neurological injuries, because her nerves are involved,” forecasting the possibility of “some loss of sensation in her limbs."

The car, a Toyota Innova, was attacked less than a mile from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s residence. Indian forensic experts were examining it late in the afternoon.

Ravi Singh, a nearby service station owner, said he heard a loud blast and ran toward the burning car. Several people who were in the car behind it stopped and rescued the driver and woman occupant.

In Tbilisi, Shota Utiashvili, a spokesman for the Georgian Interior Ministry, confirmed that a bomb was discovered attached to the car of an employee of the Israeli Embassy.

“The car of a Georgian national working for the Israeli Embassy was mined,” he said. “The embassy employee noticed a suspicious object and he called the police, and the police successfully defused it before it went off.”

He said the car was not parked close to the embassy at the time. He said this was the first attempted attack on an employee of the Israeli Embassy.

I doubt it, on both counts.
Iran is probably responsible in both India and Georgia, I'm also convinced they are supplying the Syrian rebels with weapons despite their long close alliance.
Israel had no motivation to support the 9/11 attacks it's not like their support by us was waning in any way. The only possible motivation they could have, to gear the US against Arabs and Islam in general, would obviously lead to an America tired of war and increasingly less likely to support Israel. You know....like now.
I seem to remember that Mossad contacted US intelligence services several times in an attempt to warn them something was happening.

Just the mention of Gordon Duff's name makes me immediately suspicious. The man spouts nonsense, regularly. Add to that he seems to be an open anti-semite, and frequently finds his articles posted on intifada-palestine and al jazerra, I find him pointing a finger at the Jews for pretty much anything unsurprising.
He's also accused Rupert Murdoch of being an Israeli Citizen and Jewish, demonstrably false, in the same article he claims Murdoch had a hand in 9/11 and that "Israel controls congress."
I believe absolutely nothing the man says until and unless it's confirmed by at least two unrelated sources.

I would like to clarify that just because you think Israel was behind an action doesn't mean I'm labeling you an anti-Semite. The Jews and Israel are as worthy of criticism as any fallible person is. I was simply pointing out that Gordon Duff's body of work indicates that he IS an anti-Semite or at least pants on head retarded. I view his work with distrust, if not disdain.

I was simply pointing out that Gordon Duff's body of work indicates that he IS an anti-Semite or at least pants on head retarded. I view his work with distrust, if not disdain.

Yes, I hI understand that, and didnt think you were. But I have been called that on here before, and wanted to make it clear where i stand. Not to mention that a couple of respected members on here are married to (no doubt charming and beautiful) Jewish girls. I think highly of both members, and would never do or say anything to offend either of them....at least not in regard to this matter.

I'm thinking bombmakers who hoked up the wrong wire by mistake. it appears as if Iran has started an international bombing campaign and are getting more desperate. Thankfully their ineptness has limited the damage.

Explosions in Bangkok Injure Suspected Iranian National

BANGKOK — A series of explosions rocked a residential neighborhood here on Tuesday, including a blast caused by a man believed to be an Iranian national who threw a hand grenade at Thai police officers, a police official said.

The explosions came a day after bombers attacked Israeli Embassy personnel in the capitals of India and Georgia. Israel accused Iran of being behind the attacks, which the Tehran government denied.

Witnesses here said three foreign-looking men fled a house in the city’s Sukhumvit neighborhood after an explosion in the early afternoon tore off the roof.

Two of the men escaped, setting off a man hunt. The third man emerged from the house disoriented and tried to hail a taxi, witnesses said. When the taxi did not stop, he threw an explosive device, possibly a hand grenade, at the taxi, destroying the front half the vehicle, police said.

The police said the man then threw a hand grenade at approaching officers.

“It did not reach them. He couldn’t throw it far enough,” said Col. Varavudh Thaweechaikarn, a police officer at the scene. The explosion badly injured the man’s legs.

Among the man’s belongings, the police found a receipt from a hotel in the Thai city of Chonburi, Colonel Varavudh said. “The man put his nationality as Iranian when he checked into the hotel,” he said.

The police also found Iranian currency in the man’s wallet.

Thai police did not immediately reveal the man’s identity. He and two other foreigners rented and occupied the house for the past several weeks, said a housecleaner, Laxme Kondan, 35, who lives on the same street.

Ms. Laxme Kondan said she heard an explosion and ran to the house to see what had happened.

“I saw two men wearing shorts and no shoes running out of the house,” she said. “Five minutes later, I saw another man run out with blood on his face.”

Wichai Tiwaree, 44, who works in an import-export company on the street where the blast occurred, was riding on a motorcycle soon after the first explosion and said he saw “a guy walking in a very unusual way.”

“I saw blood coming out of his ears,” Mr. Wichai said. “I heard an explosion and saw the man running up the street. People were yelling, ‘Get him! Get him!’ ”

On Monday, the wife of an Israeli defense envoy to New Delhi was hurt along with several other people when her car was destroyed by an explosive device placed on it by a motorcyclist at a red light. In Tbilisi, the Georgian capital, a similar device was discovered on the car of a local staff member of the Israeli Embassy, but was defused by the police. Israel said both bombs were linked to Iran.

The explosions followed heightened terrorism warnings in Thailand last month after a Lebanese man was arrested at Bangkok’s main airport as he tried to leave the country. Thai authorities said his arrest came after a tip from Israeli intelligence agents, who warned that a group of people who appeared to be from the Iranian-backed group Hezbollah were planning to strike tourist sites here in mid-January.

The man, Atris Hussein, led Thai police to a warehouse where they found almost of four tons of chemicals that can be used for making bombs.

At the time, the American Embassy had issued an “emergency message” warning of a possible terrorism threat against Americans in Bangkok, and Israel warned its citizens to be on alert as well. A dozen other embassies then urged their own nationals to exercise caution. Thai authorities, though, said Thailand appeared to have been a staging ground but not the target of any attack.

Swedish authorities here in Bangkok have visited Mr. Hussein and are providing him legal services, a Swedish Foreign Ministry spokesman, Andre Mkandawire, said on Tuesday.
