Those who assign all of Africa's problems on various European nations are missing the most important part of the puzzle. The African himself.
Tribal raiding was not introduced by Europeans, it goes back to the beginning. Lack of industry on the part of the male population, abuse of women, excess alcohol consumption, cannibalism. All were common and none were introduced by Europeans.
It is all a tradition. What the Europeans did was decrease mortality from violence and disease. Slowed the slave raids and sale of slaves. Reduced cannibalism in ritual and nutritional aspects. Tried to institute morality on an immoral people. It caused overpopulation, famine and oddly more violence as the normal attrition through daily raiding, rape and murder simply postponed the inevitable. Allowed the numbers to get higher. (Think Rwanda.) Instead of daily attrition, you get a 50 year build up and then a cataclysmic event.
European's hands are far from clean. To present the Africa as some pre European utopia ignores the endemic violence of Africa and the Africans themselves.
Very similar situation with regards to the North American Indigenous (Indians).
Battle for North America is a good read albeit published in 1889 in 13 volumes (now in a single volume)
For example, Iroquois were notorious for torturing captured prisoners for entertainment. The other tribesmen they didn’t assimilate into their families were tortured for weeks then smashed with stone tomahawk followed by cooking and eating them.
They also annihilated the Hurons 1648-1650
