Craddock Precision Signature Series

I recently learned about these barrels on another forum and I was curious if other members here have experience with them.

The prices seem pretty reasonable for barrels using 5R Bartlein blanks and I know Craddock has a good reputation. The thing that caught my attention the most though was the use of gain twist rates. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an off the shelf 223 Wylde barrel with a gain twist.

Any feedback on this barrel or any of the other models in the Signature Series line would be greatly appreciated. Considering that these are Bartlein barrels that don’t have 6-8 month waits, I’m honestly surprised these aren’t mentioned more frequently on this forum.

Cradock is mentioned on a regular basis and comes highly recommended! I have a 6.5 creedmoor and a 308 signature series barrels. Both shoot better than any barrel I’ve had in the past to include a Gap10 and several Proof Reaearch barrels. Probably THE best off the shelf AR barrel available!

It’s not a signature series but I have a 16”bartlein modbb 6.5 creed from Craddock and it’s a hammer. Definitely recommend them.

Just purchased a 6.5 creedmoor signature series. I'll update with a range report when tested. It's a +3 gas system, I'm used to a jp supermatch +2.

I’ve got a 16.25”, 1:7 gain twist, 223 wylde signature barrel. About 1.1 MOA 10-shot groups seems normal using factory Federal 73gr Bergers. I’m mostly a bolt gunner, so there’s probably a bit of my own shooter error in there too. I also haven’t tried out many other anmmo offerings.

I need to decide if I’m putting a suppressor or muzzle device on it.

FWIW, Paul has one of the better barrel shops in the business. Personally, I have been called a barrel snob. After several approaches to becoming a less snobbish barrel guy, I have failed at accepting "good enough for the price," and have come to terms with the fact that I am a snob.

This becomes a limitation in business, as we only accept the best barrel for the task, and have avoided many popular brands for our rifle builds commercially.

The fact is that for gas guns, the mission defines the barrel and the barrel defines the rest of the gun. I believe you start that way. The single most important ingredient in a gas gun is the barrel. And a 20" stainless 5R match-grade barrel is very good at one mission. an 11.5" CMV Chome-lined phosphates exterior is very good at another mission. Just as a Chevy 3500 Diesel pick-up and a yellow Lamborghini are great for what they are intended to do, you would not take home a GE Freezer in the Lambro and you would not take 120 MPH S-curves with the Chevy.
