Rifle Scopes Cronus BTR for $1315 shipped? Scam?

So I posted a question about a Athlon Cronus BTR here and got a PM from someone saying they would sell me a new Athlon Cronus BTR for $1315 shipped. Sound too good to be true but maybe I am wrong? I hate being a sucker and get scamed but I don't want to pass up a potential good deal either. Thoughts? Thanks

$1315.00 is pretty darn cheap. If it's from an authorized dealer that's pretty amazing. Run their name past Athlon and see if they're a dealer and if they are jump on it as that's a beyond amazing price

Unless that is for the 1-6X, that is outrageously low. Rarely you can find something like that when a dealer is dropping a line or something of that nature, but I would be pretty wary.

At that price, if it is a private seller that just joined, only has a few handfuls of posts and is looking to get money sent via PayPal Family and Friends, I'd be very cautious!

However, if seller is a long time Hide member with long history of postings you may have just stumbled into a great deal. I'd first check their posts and search the PX Feedback Section on the Snipers Hide Post Exchange forum to see what their screen name brings up. There are some people here on the Hide that are always chasing that elusive unicorn scope and do turn over a lot of scopes at very decent prices.

Make sure scope is truly "New" and not "Like New!" In my opinion, if it has ever been mounted, it is not new!

On the other hand, if it is a verifiable dealer/reputable vendor, I'd break their arm on it... but would still be left wondering, "why so cheap."

A friend of mine just sold one on gun broker for $1300 that was new, he had to relist it 2-3 times to get that, dropping the reserve each time. I was really surprised and almost bought it myself, but it was Mil and I’m using moa

I had someone on here quote me one new for like 1350.00 and that has been quite a while back. But I went with something more on the high end and didn't follow up... Don't remember the the guys name...
