Ordered a muzzle brake that will need timed. I know it's 3/4x24. So I'm going to need crush washers for now till I can get it timed. It seems that are all over the place in sizes. Some think thin... Are some better than others? My outside dia. is 1". What should I be looking for? I can't find any charts on midway? Are they one size fits all?

I'm not a smith?? Bought a brake for my gun that will need timed! Which I'll get done aventuly. But of course I want to shoot and do load development. So I need a shim or crush washer of type to time it properly. But I've never use them and want to make sure I'm getting the right stuff?? In google search there are a lot of types cooper, medical, rubber?? Should it come out flush with barrel or doesn't matter?

Ahhh...my mistake (not enough coffee this morning). Sorry, didn't mean to imply anything, just asking the question on the assumption you had a lathe. My mistake.

Do you know anyone with a hobby/jeweler's lathe? This would be a 15 min job with a chunk of some aluminum tubing or bar stock...

Looks like McMaster Carr has aluminum metric crush washers. The closest is the M18, but you'd have to ream 1mm more on the ID. You could probably do this with a hand reamer or a dremel tool.

McMaster-Carr

Select the cushioning/Vibration option and then scroll down to "Metric Metal Sealing Washers"

The MRAD brake has an option for a shim kit. Reference the timing, I'm not a Smith, however, the last MRAD brake I purchased was timing at the 9-10 position. I used a flat surface and removed material off the backside of the brake until it timed. I kept turning the brake so it was even. Not saying this was proper, but it worked so it was hand tight at TDC and then utilized the clamp feature. I know the MRAD is not the correct thread/pitch, but you may elect to time it as I did.
