CTD = scum of the Earth

Re: CTD = scum of the Earth

At $129 a piece I wonder what their return policy is like.

Re: CTD = scum of the Earth

I never shopped much from those assholes to begin with, but I'm definitely not encouraged to do so now. What a joke. It's almost hard to understand how this company even stays in business. The fact that they refer to $129 for a Colt AR mag as a "low price" really makes me think that they don't value their customers.

I hope all of the gun owners who've shopped with this company in the past keep their sales tactics in mind once this panic blows over. I'll never give them a dime.

Re: CTD = scum of the Earth

Saw these on sale at a pawn shop in east Texas on Tuesday.
$99.00 each, new in wrap.

I should say, I saw the spot on the floor where several empty cases of these sat. Shop sold several cases at that price.

It's all about the market, not a moral imperative to price things where the under employed can afford them.

Why not put some of that considerable hatred into a boycott of professional sports and the $1,000,000.00 price tag for a sky box in an NFL stadium?
At the very least one should sell their fatasy football franchise in protest. that'll make a profound statement.

Re: CTD = scum of the Earth

I just cannot even bring myself to be concerned with these guys. If they want to do that, fine. If people are dumb enough to pay it? Well. . . I guess they were right to charge that much.

We cant think about every exploitative business out there like they are traitors to the sport or 2A, because those businesses were never really here to support us. They were just here to take our money. They dont give a shit about our events, they dont give a shit about our rights. . none of it. They just want our money and that is their right as an American business. It is also our right to pick and choose who we do business with. We just have to take it as our own responsibility to sort them out and support those who support us.

Is it a little shameful that these exploiters are one of the larger online retailers when some of the really great guys are not doing 1/2 their business? Sure, but guess who made them huge. . We shooters did.

Support shooting businesses that support shooters and this wont happen.

Re: CTD = scum of the Earth

I have an idea. Call them up, take up as much of their time as possible. Then once you've had them track down a ton of products for your order, explain that you won't be buying anything from a company that makes money off a tragedy and engages in behavior that is harmful to people who want to exercise their 2nd amendment rights. Fuck CTD, they're been doing this shit for years.

Re: CTD = scum of the Earth

I recived their E-Mail yesterday on their low priced mags. When I saw the prices they were asking I went rite to the bottom of the page and clicked on "remove me". Also I threw the flyer in the trash with it not even opened!

Re: CTD = scum of the Earth

The problem is that they're still able to SELL them. I know exactly what they're doing and why. They're going to keep raising the price until the sales drop a significant percentage that they no longer make enough to cover the loss. It's like a business model of instead of selling a bunch of lower price products you sell a few niche high level products. The only difference is there doing it with lower price products in extremely high demand. Once they figure out the cap they'll drop the price to the last most effective selling price for maximum gain. As much as you guys want to dislike them and I'm inclined to agree... It's a very sharp business move and until the public quits buying into it they won't stop.

Re: CTD = scum of the Earth

I saw this on arfcom too. When someone in the equipment exchange does it, it's free market economy and you're a communist if you complain. When a large retailer with a lot more overhead does it, it's price gouging and capitalizing on panic buyers and a tragedy. Where is the middle ground? The same guys who sell a gun for $2000 they paid $1000 and laugh and brag about it bitch about a company doing the same thing. Is that not hypocrisy? Jmo

Re: CTD = scum of the Earth

I've only ever bought one item from CTD and that's before I even knew about MidwayUSA. MidwayUSA has always done me right, even in cases where I fucked up my order, they corrected it and made it right for me. They even shipped a incomplete back-order for P-mags order the other day out the fear of what 'bama would bring.

Private parties gouging the eyes out of each other doesn't help either. I have no doubt individuals were buying mags in bulk to cash in on them when they dried up. This is exactly why dealers are doing it now.

I have never purchased from CTD and decided never to do so are they sent an XD45 directly to a friend of mine last year, completely failing to send it to his FFL!

I had to goto Lowes near CTD in McKinney yesterday, so I decided to stop in to see their prices. Holy hell A Bushmaster XM15 for $2000 and LMT for $6000. Their shelves are bare too.

Re: CTD = scum of the Earth

I have not bought from these assholes since before the 2008 election. I did not forget the shit from them then and I will not forget this either.

If I need something and they are the only store in the solar system, much less the planet earth that has that item, I will not buy from them.

FOAD CTD!

Re: CTD = scum of the Earth

Come on guys, you're being a little tough on em! They advertise on this board! If it weren't for these guys and those like them (those paying for ads), this board couldn't keep operating-at no fee for users.

You're funny

Re: CTD = scum of the Earth

Ironically, the only time I have ordered from CTD is when they had HK-91 mags for 99 cents several years ago. I ordered 25 of them and with S&H it was a little over $30 for 25 mags, most of them in excellent condition.

I laughed when I saw "Our low price: $129.97" for a Colt USGI mag. Wow...

Re: CTD = scum of the Earth

I was at the McKinney store several weeks ago and laughed at their prices of EVERYTHING! I asked one of the clerks why handgun prices are 25% higher than retail and I was told that their shelves would be empty if they sold their guns at retail right now! You can't just blame the store when idiots are willing to pay these prices.

Actually make that six weeks.

Re: CTD = scum of the Earth

I just got my final CTD catalog. They lowered the USGI aluminum mags to $99. I highlighted it wrote a nice note and mailed it back. Fuck them.

Local store here is getting pmags in and selling them for $23.

How soon after placing your order with MidwayUSA did you get your stuff. I've been waiting over two months for four magazines, I've had no reply to any of my emails and as of today the waiting time speak to customer services is 29 minutes. All I want to do is cancel my order.

I' quite positive if you emailed them with your order #,, and customer #, they will get your order cancelled, unless it's processing at the moment, Far be it from me to stand up for Midway, but I think they stated along with 90% of internet companies that these times are rather difficult for them at the moment.
Now back to the regular scheduled bash, I can't believe with all the other companies out there, that anyone has ever bought anything from these scumbags., CTD that is.

I'm all about the free market, supply and demand, etc. but come on, really?

http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/MAG-068

Clearly your not all about the free market and supply and demand, otherwise you wouldn't see the problem.

Ironic how principles can change when it adversely effects you? Guess you didn't really belive in them in the first place. You would rather someone like me, buy them all up at normal prices and stash them, then people who need them, be able to buy them. Makes a ton of sense............
