i have a savage 10fp old style stagered feed short action. does anyone make custom detachable mag system for it.

I've been talking to Jeff at CDI Precision about doing a run of Savage bottom metal using the AI mags. He's good to go with it as long as we can come up with 10 orders of the same action screw spacing. We're looking at doing the staggerfeed style short action first so if you're interested shoot me a PM. I will be putting out a feeler post here in the next day or so to see if we can get the # needed in same action screw spacing, after that we may try to do some for the other (centerfeed) spacing as well. I'm just waiting on my McMillan stock to show up for the donor rifle, but if someone else has a good quality stock (McMillan, HS Precision, etc) and would be willing to send thier rifle in to Jeff, we could get it rolling sooner. I'll relay this info in the feeler post as well.

John, pricing should be the same as his other bottom metal offerings. Check out www.cdiprecisiongunworks for some examples of what the finished product will look like and pricing on what he has out there already. Take a look and if this interests you just let me know.
