Anyone know of a good custom holster maker? And by "custom" I mean built the way I want for a gun that not many makers even make a holster for. So far I've found Diamond D, but I haven't heard back from them so I'm still unsure if they will make what I want.

I do quite a bit of leather work but haven’t gotten into holsters yet. For holsters check out Bitterroot Gun Leather on IG. Does some really nice quality work. All handmade.

Typically a holster maker will use a “blue gun” in the model of pistol you are looking to make a holster for. They will use this gun to build the holster off of and wet form the holster to fit the pistol. This will prevent you from having to send your pistol in etc.

The knife sheaths that I do, I always require the actual knife. Pistols are a different story obviously. Generally, Leather workers are small 1 man shops and you are more than likely to find them on FB or IG as opposed to an actual website. Check out the Tandy Leather in your area, they will typically know the crafters in your area or have their business cards onsite.

My local holster maker obtained his FFL so he could receive and return firearms that molds hadn't been made for. You may want to find someone like that.

I've got two that I like for my P01 Omega SR.

I've got an appendix carry holster with spare mag holder built (kydex) in from https://blackrhinoconcealment.com/ These guys are easy to deal with and super fast. If they don't have it they can make it. They answer the phone and will talk to you about whatever you need. Very rugged pieces if kydex is your thing. They will get the nod on some things in the furture from me. Heck they'll make hoslters for anything you need, flash lights, knives, just ask them!

My second I purchased is actually my EDC, which is an OWB leather from Boriqua Leather. This thing is top notch. All hand made, small business made by Alex himself who will keep in contact with you from the begining and send you photo updates along the way. Work is just gorgeous and he will be making more hoslters/rigs for other firearms for sure.

Those are friggin' nice! I don't even need anything that nice looking, just functional. Gordon from Paradise Valley Leather is looking into making me one, if that doesn't pan out I'll give those guys a call. Thing is no one makes a mold of my particular gun, so alot of the guys that say "custom" aren't really "custom" unless looks and material is "custom". If there is no mold they simply can't /won't do it.

I’m leaning towards “won’t” and the The reason they chose not to do is (1) they don’t have an FFL or 2) they don’t want the liability of wrapping your firearm in cerran wrap so that they can wet form sopping wet leather over it. Don’t get me wrong, if done properly the firearm will be just fine and without issue.

If they can form a holster over a mold, then they can do it over your firearm. It’s just more of a liability is all.

    What gun is it?

Wife made this for my double stack / suppressor hight front site.
And my son has made several leather back and kydex for others not in vouge.

    Diy that thing.

Snuby that's a good question, I didn't realize I didn't post what it was for, and what I wanted. It's an EAA P Match Pro 10mm, what I'm wanting is a chest holster for hunting. I don't think your wife did too bad there, probably a heck of a lot better than I could do! I have an FNX .45 that is a pretty sweet gun, I tried to get FN to make one in 10mm auto, but they said no dice.:(

Like the fn your gun is not mainstream.
You may be able to find a dropdown leg holster.

Look into military supply items, at ctd? Type places

Thought I'd update this, got the chest holster from Alaska Man Gear, and it's a quality holster. No it's not made from form fitting leather, or kydex, out of all the holster makers I contacted no one would even attempt to make one. The AMG holster is made to fit pistols with a mini RDS optic, though you don't have to use one if you don't want to. The best thing about this holster is not only does it fit my EAA P Match Pro, but it also will work with my FNX .45, G17, HK USP, and P226. I have the one that has a pouch for an extra magazine, but you can order it with 2 mag pouches if you feel the need. Muzzle end is left open so if you want to install an extended barrel, or have a comp you can still use it. I wish it had come with some elastic keepers for the tag ends of the adjustment straps, but those are easy enough to source. I'll try to post a pic later for anyone who might be interested.
