Accessories Custom Tanto knives

The black predator is the one I ordered. Very nice knife and good price. Easy deal all around and only took a week to receive. Thanks.

I appreciate the positive review as I have really enjoyed making knives for you fellas. I put a lot of effort into these.

I got a little something new coming in a couple weeks. Here’s a sneak peek.

Got my 4-color camo tanto today. Very pleased. You can see the “imperfections” of a handmade knife, versus the perfect copies of mass production knives. The imperfections actually add to the aesthetic IMO.

+1 I'd get one of those if they ever get made. Also interested in the hatchet.
Sounds good I will take a look at that design. I should have a new Tanto without a ring available soon.

I haven’t been making as many knives of late as I am also a woodworker and was commissioned to make a kitchen island out of rough cut slabs I have. I am very busy but I will make some tomahawks in the next week or so. I have a large 12” and a smaller 11” one that has been seen in pictures. I have an OD green one that I will sell but haven’t posted it anywhere as it was a the first prototype.

Here’s the hawks, $275 shipped for snipers hide members with the top load sheath. I can take orders for other color combos.

Specs?

To anyone who have purchased and used these knives, can you comment on the handle comfort? PM me if needed. Considering one for a PC knife.

It’s 1095 steel, which knife do you want specs on? I can make the handle less aggressive but generally the handles have the larger relief cut and allows your hand to dip into the depression without causing discomfort but it’s not gonna slip.

My bad, specs on the tomahawk. You mentioned previously it’d be either 11 or 12” overall. I guess just specs such as head width, spike length, cutting edge, material, etc.

It looks like a good design at that price point. Can you go into a bit more detail for unsheathing the hawk? Really excited to see these.

My question about the handle was because it looks (and I assume feels) different. I’ve never used a tool with that type of contouring. From my view, I worry about it causing hotspots.

This design is 11” top to bottom. The bottom has been beveled as a pry bar with the corresponding jimping in the head for a non slip control. The spike, doubles as a pad lock breaker (yes I have tried it) and the main blade is approximately 2.75”.

It is made out of 1095 1/4 steel with G10 handles.

The sheath is currently a top load Kydex sandwich attached to a belt clip utilizing a conventional sling swivel QD attachment.

In regards to the handles being to rough for use, the green hawk is a little to aggressive as I didn’t put a bevel on the edges before I cut the depressions. I need to re contour the grip. The red one I did second and I put a 35 degree bevel on the grips before I cut the depressions and it is very nice in the hand. I will recontour and repaint the green one prior shipment.

Any possibility of a ringed hunter? Or just a different point on the tantos? Spear or drop would be cool.

Those hawks are sweet!
I can do radiuses edged on the ringed design. I gonna make some knifes this week so if anyone wants something let me know.

I’m really digging this non ringed Tanto. It’s very nice in the hand and I’m gonna make some more as I like them so much.

I’m making a couple ringed Tantos, I had my first kid so getting out to the shop has been tough. Snapper season is also in a week so I will probably not be making knives for two months.

let me know if y’all want anything as I will be in the shop for the next week after hours.

I got two new models, the Flatback and the Flatback Mini, the larger of the two is just over 9” and the Mini is just over 7”. The 9” is sold but the mini is available for $180 shipped. It is black and burnt bronze and will include a belt clip or a molle attachment.

The mini fits the hand great.

If I had $180 to spare, this would be mine. I don’t have any need for huge knives, but I really like that Mini.
I’ll be contacting you when all my fun money isn’t going into my new 7mm for another one.

No problem man, just let me know.

The Mini is my favorite thus far. I sold all my blades even my personal one off my vest last week and I will be replacing it with the mini, when I have time enough to make one for myself that is.

Just here to post my monthly need for a knife and hawk trainer.
Sorry man, I have been trying to figure out how to get them to fit your sheaths. The sheaths are made to the scales on the knife. No simple, cheep options. Other option is make a set of trainers with their own sheaths. I will try to figure something out. I haven’t been in the shop much as it’s fishing season.

No problem, glad to hear you’re working on it. I didn’t know about the fit to the blade. I thought a 1:1 size that was dulled would be close enough, but I can see how that’d be problematic.

Definitely let me know when you find a solution as I’d like to keep the sheaths mounted on kit without switching them back and forth.
