Anyone know of stock makers that are moderately priced? I realize there is a lot of hand work involved and you get what you pay for.

Depends what you are looking for.
I know a couple guys who have found really nice walnut on Ebay for good prices.
There was a guy making them, Taylor Stocks or something, and believe there were issues and he shut down.
Traditional hunting stock out of walnut is what I'm after. Nothing real fancy, just standard checkering and butt pad. It is for a 1959 Win mod 70 with a Bartlien carbon barrel I'm building. Im hoping for something in the $1000 to $1300 range. Thanks for your response!
