I have a rem 700 sps-v that I have been using for coyotes, I am tired of the long barrel and am thinking about having it cut down to 20". Or would it be cheaper to trade up to a sps-tactical that already has a shorter barrel?
I would think wacking off a few inches and recrowning would be a bit cheaper then a new gun...............but any excuse to get a new gun is better then no new gun.
But hey, there is nothing to it: (from my Grandaughter's science project.
Had the 26" barrel on my 700 VLS cut and crowned at 22" with no regrets for $50.00. You'll get the length you want and a profesionally cut target crown, which you won't get on a new gun.
