Well, I though it would be a 452 American, but in my endless and frustrating search for discontinued CZs I was lucky enough to find a 453 Varmint- I get old school CZ accuracy, two action screws, and the heavy barrel! I never dreamed I would find one of these rifle's new in stock. The seller almost hung up on me because I kept asking, "Are you sure its a 453 in 22LR?"
I digress...
I am unsure which direction to go for mounting. I don't have a lot of 'precision' shooting experience with .22s. I would like to be able to dial out to 200 yards. The scope I am considering is the Leupold Mark AR Mod 1, which is spec'd as hang 67 MOA elevation.
Plan 1:
Use the 11mm dovetail with either Warne 7.3/22 rings or Talley 100000 series rings, but with this setup will the scope have enough elevation to get me to 200 yards?
Plan 2:
Buy a DIP 25 MOA mount and have a choice of quality picatinny rings.
Not sure which way to go. I am attracted to the simplicity of just using the CZ dovetail and rings, but I'm thinking elevation will be limited. Going with DIP gives me more ring choices, but also increases overall cost.
Advice?
