CZ 457 Scope Base

Since my other CZ thread got hijacked with replacement barrel discussions, I started another one.
Need some learnin'. Are the 457 receivers drilled and tapped for a Picatinny rail, or do all of them have the set screws on the side that screw into the grove on the dovetail? If they are drilled and tapped is the spacing the same for 455 & 457 because that's what most of the bases I have seen are for? Also, this is a 100 yard gun, so I assume standard elevation rails will work fine. I'm limited to 100 yards at my club. So I will probably never shoot the long sistances you guys shoot.

not sure if this answers your question exactly but the 455 and 457 receivers are completely different footprints and sizes. A 455 base will not fit or work on a 457.

your go to bases for 457 are EGW, DIP, Masterpiece Arms, BScar, Area 419 and Murphy Precision.

For your application, I would recommend the BScar rail as that will be the best bang for your buck

457 receivers are drilled and tapped for the scope base, 455 are not. You may be able to use a 455 base on a 457 but why would you want to. I have a friend whos 455 base works on his Tikka T1x. 0 MOA or 20 MOA would work fine at 100 yards. Here are some photos of my 457 Varmint showing the DIP scope base and a DIP bolt knob.

Area 419 makes a great base for the CZ457!

probably not, a 0 MOA base should work just fine for that application. all things being equal if you are even considering stretching it out at some point, its better to buy one with elevation built in, just to have it.

Actually the 455 and the 457 are the same footprint and size. Both are flat top and 11mm.

i apologize for the confusion. i meant the entire action itself. Yes the dovetails are the same but the 457 is shorter overall than the 455 with different action screw spacing. hence the reason 457's don't drop into 455 stocks

I ordered the scope base from Bscar and a Vortex Diamond back tactical from Mid South. The base adds 1/4" of height to the rail. With the 44mm Objective, what height rings would I need.
I'm awful at this kind of math.
