CZ455 accuracy. What are you seeing out of yours?

I put together a CZ455 trainer with an OEM barrel and receiver assembly,Timney trigger and a Manners stock. I have tried Norma Tac22,Wolf Match Target,Eley Tenx and a few others and I have a hard time getting it to shoot better than 1.5 to 1.75 inches at 100 yards. Any thoughts or ideas? What are you seeing out of your same type set up?

Mine will hold around an inch at 100 with SK standard plus. Consistent sub .5” at 50. Wolf match extra is a close second but not as consistent. This is a 455 VPT also with a timney trigger.

I found the TImney trigger (don't misunderstand this because I actually like Timney's) very lacking for the CZ455. It never adjusted down to the advertised pull weight and gave inconsistent trigger pulls on top of that. My shooting buddy had the exact same issue from his. Both my CZ455s wear Mr. Fly triggers now and they have been fantastic.
Your OEM barrel should be very capable of excellent accuracy but requires the rest of the platform to be at its best as well. Have you done pillar bedding on the stock? If you have the trainer stock then it may not be the best for shooting small with the rifle. I have the CZ Tacticool stock on the gun with OEM barrel and another with a Boyd's AT-One and Fedderson barrel. The OEM heavy contour barrel is a very good shooting barrel with Wolf Match Extra.

I bought a 455 Tacticool in July, my initial results were similar to yours. The rifle is still OEM but with a fly trigger. Now it will always shoot sub moa, generally .8-.9 at 100 and .3 at 50. The action has been pillar bedded and I worked on the bore some especially around the throat area with JB compound. The ammo it ended up wanting is Eley Edge. The average out of the box cz will do 1/2”-1” at 50 yards and 1”-2” at 100 yards (give or take). The factory barrels are far from match grade so the accuracy is understandable. For $400+- rifle they have excellent fit and finish and decent accuracy. To get them under an inch at 100 yards gauranteed with take custom fitted match grade barrel, bedding, bolt work, and trigger properly tuned that it doesn’t affect the ignition of the rifle in a negative way.

The Manners on my VPT needed some fitting and bedding. If you have been there and done that, borescoping wouldn't be a terrible idea, even if it cost a modest fee to have it done.

CCI standard velocity hangs in there with most of the high end ammo I've tried in my barrel if I'm willing to forgive the 1 or 2 rounds out of 50 that go a little wild. Shot a couple groups at 110 yds today to test a new lot and was entirely satisfied with the results, but I'm mostly interested in banging steel with the rifle.

Mine (varmint barrel) really likes Lapua Midas Plus. Lapua Center X is good also, just not as consistent.

Putting in a rimfire range with steel out to 200 yds and needed to shoot some groups to figure out how big to cut the plates.

Shot these 5 groups with CCI Standard Velocity at 100 yds this evening. Quickly measured with a ruler, they average out to 1.35 inches. Eley subsonic hp's shoot a fair bit better, but 6 cents a round for the sv allows me to shoot whenever I like. Sticker for the bottom group fell off on the way home. Made a few scope adjustments between groups. Conditions were good.

5/5 on a 2 inch steel gong at 180, 4/5 on a 3.25 inch steel at 215 today.

Shot 5, 5 shot groups at 100 to start, all 1 inch or under. Look at some of the other CZ455 threads, you'll see some of the shots we've made as this comes up frequently. I'm to the point of being able to pinpoint exact data out to 300 as well as make reliable hits; just having a weird drifting issue I've noticed.

Mine loves Wolf Match Target Extra and shoots R50 even better. My best group to date at 100 with it is a 5 shot .691...

So after doing that bore compound trick, I'm getting just under MOA to just over MOA with my CZ455 Tacticool and either RWS R50 or Midas+
