Hey everyone, I have a precision trainer that I shot Friday and in the middle of shooting the bolt becomes very hard to close. I have shot it probably a few thousand rounds. It only does it with a round in the chamber. I have never taken the bolt apart and cleaned it. Is it time for that or anyone have another suggestion?

Carbon ring in the chamber, you changed brand of ammo to cci (driving band is further forward so harder to chamber), your shooting with a suppressor and the bolt face has gotten caked up (can also happen without one on but takes longer). If none of those are the issue, gun would have to be inspected by a competent person.

Well, I will hope for option one. None of the rest are applicable. It was sudden. I did try a few of my wolf and then switched back to federal automatch. Maybe that's the issue. Thanks for the help guys

At roughly 1500 rounds, my 455 22lrs need to be pulled apart, including the bolt,
and cleaned completely due to blowback deposits on the bolt face and inside the bolt.
Bolt becomes hard to close and sometimes fail to extract, all because of buildup.
The 17 hmrs and 22wmrs need to be cleaned completely every brick.
I've had blowback residue build up on the lug and prevent bolt closure due to friction.
