But I will buy a D series when I find a good deal and ring it out.

I am not saying, nor have I wanted to imply the D-Series is a "better" scope vs. a Raptor. No way here as all of my reviews over the years have talked about what the differences are between these 2 systems. You can still pound nails with the Raptors and their edge to edge sharpness and superior contrast at extended ranges are second to none.

But, for folks looking for a lower cost alternative, the D-Series scopes have provided many users with very satisfactory results over many years no matter what a selected few have published. There has also been NO quantitative information from active users who have reported any wide spread reliability problems from the internal mechanisms.
