hey guys i have been looking at purchasing this rifle but i cant find a lot of info about the rifle. do they build them in 308win. if so how many rounds can the rifle hold in the magazine.i am willing to spend the $4k but it must be multi purpose i-e deer hunting, the 338lapua is overkill.any information will be help full.

Re: dakota t-76 longbow

thanks for the info, but they make it sound like the rifle is a single shot bolt action. I found one longbow for sale at a cabela's in Boise Idaho caliber is 308win. but the ad does not tell me how many round the rifle holds,is it a single shot or 5 round internal magazine.

Re: dakota t-76 longbow

hey guys, just checked out gap's web sight, the usmc m40a1+ss mrad 5-20x50. i think this would be a great rig only thing that concerns me is the terminal ballistics of the 308win.i-e stopping power on elk sized animals from 500to 800yrds. the bullet of my choice is the federal premium 165grn.tsx,for a future elk hunt.

Re: dakota t-76 longbow

There are a lot of great calibers between the .308 and the .338 Lapua magnum. Both the .30-06 (loaded to modern specs) and the .300 Win Mag will be able to reach out farther with the killing power you need for long range elk hunting. The .30-06 is a very potent cartridge when loaded correctly and is also very affordable.
