After much research I decided against Danner because all four selections I chose were reviewed on other sites as "Made In China", and I woulda never thought that about Danner.
But the link did prompt me to 'get on the job' and Google differently--"Made in USA boots".

Didn't mean to set the impression that all Danner boots are made in China... I was only interested in 4 selections, and my four were all MIC.
I know that some of the Danners are still made in USA. The chink stuff is 'clearly' labeled in the descriptions--as "imported".

Wow, I just spent 2 hours and 29 minutes trying to get on the web site, getting dropped, back on, then fighting my way through the jammed up checkout but saved $115 on a pair of hiking boots!

I called my order in. Tried 20 times before I could get put on hold then waited 20 mins. When I got someone on the phone
I let her take my order, both of my brothers, and one of my
friends. We ordered 7 pair. Even got my wife a new pair of Sierras.

Yes, I got an order confirmation number. Did not, however, receive an email confirmation. I will follow up with phone call next week if need be. Keep trying. It took me several attempts and the browser would time out. Good luck.

They had a bunch of stuff before the site went down, I bet they took it down on purpose not because of "overload" but because the "friends and family" code got broadcast on the internet and they weren't expecting evryone of us to be ordering boots tonight.
I wonder if 50% off is their cost.

Tried calling both 503 numbers provided here and on the thread in the Bear Pit, also tried calling their 800 number multiple times, I got busy signal on the 800 and "not a valid extension" on the two 503 numbers. I wrote them an email explaining my issues with not being able to order yesterday or today, hopefully they write me back tomorrow and help me out.

No. I am issued danners, I like danners, and wanted to try some lacrosse's for off duty chores and get my boy a pair of hunting boots and thought this would be a great opportunity. I do think it would be nice if they could have had the ability to fulfill the orders that would have been placed had their servers not crashed or whatever. So obviously we would all appreciate it and I think, to some degree, they are obligated to honor it to those people who tried, but how do they verify if someone tried or not? I guess I will wait and find out. I am not whining, just posted up that I tried to place an order in several different ways and was unsuccessful, so I wrote them an email to see if they would honor it. Figured I would let other hiders know since a few were going to try calling today as well.

My guess is that they pulled the server instead of living up to the offer. I tried for two hours and it crashed or was pulled as I was checking out. Fine, I have two sets of Danner boots, that will probably be my last after that episode. There are WAY too many well made boots out there that are less expensive.

I for one am not getting riled up, just attempting to get in on the good deal and seeing if they will honor the attempt to do so. I figured that was probably what happened, i.e. it was intended for a few people and it was spread like wildfire across the internet. I guess I will see what happens tomorrow if I get an email response.

The shit on this board just keeps getting crazier.....in one thread we are bombarded with the code of the tactical seamstresses and are warned of the burning hell awaiting anyone who dare dishonor themselves by having gear made other than from the virgin tibetan monk with the original bone needle, to guys pissed off because that are not given a freebie that was never intended for their use in the first place
