Thinking of selling this one but have no idea on value. I bought it to shoot Limited and then decided that .40 just wasn't my caliber.
A friend that worked for STI for many years went through the entire gun and replaced almost everything fire control related and did a tune-up on it.

Dawson Precision Edge in .40S&W
Hard Chrome
New grip frame
New fire control

Any thoughts on what the market value might be. No "I'll give you<low ball number", responses please

Correct me if I am wrong but they stoped making them or anything 2011 in the entry price of 2k. It seems all or nothing these days. I haven’t shot limited or competition in years, but I did look to see what’s available in 2011s recently and didn’t see anything reasonable. Put it up for 2k and see what you get.

I think Dawson's custom pistols originally sold for around $3500. I've seen very few of them, or STIs on the used market.
It appears that STI, now Staccato, has completely exited from the competition pistol market. Everything now is either duty or carry guns. You hardly see anything at IPSC matches except STI, and as many rounds as those guys shoot, I bet the lifetime warranty was eating them alive. Maybe that was their way of weaning out of it. We have 5 STIs not counting the Dawson pistol. I think I'll hang on to those.

I’ve got the identical pistol in 9mm new from Dawson for 2300 3 or 4 years ago. Depending on condition 1500-2000 seems reasonable

this is a tuned edge and not a custom. When dawson sold them they were 2499 for chrome and 2299 for blued when they were still made. Go search brian enos and kens list to see used prices to come up with a number because thats what ive seen over the past 2 years (when looking for a limited pistol) and how I came up with the range i posted.

It came with 5 140mm mags and have had Dawson basepads added. Four of the basepads have been buffed down to bare aluminum. I was going to finish them to match the grip frame but never got to it. They can be anodized, Duracoated, or Cerakoted.
Given the rebuild of the pistol and the five mags, I think $2300 would be a fair price.

The PX is not a fact finding/disussion subforum. If its for sale, per the rules you need to list a price. If you want to talk about your pistol and have a discussion this isnt the place, delete this thread and open up a thread in the sidearms subforum....
