DBM Differences

Is there any real difference in quality and function between the DBM bottom metal assemblies out there for the Remy 700 SA's?

Also, is there a recommended company for quality inletting job at a decent price?

Jeff at CDI precision. He has both the bottom metal and inlets for a good price.

You should finish your profile so people know where your from and can possible advise you to someone close.

There are other systems out there that cost more and might work a little bit better, but they will cost a lot more.

There's some good DBM out there. I really like Surgeon. Nice magazine guide and ambi mag release. I inletted it myself on a mill.

I have a PTG bottom metal, its very reasonably priced,takes AICS magazines and works flawlessly. I inletted it into my B&C stock myself and it didn't take very long with a rotozip and file.

seems like from the web page they hang kind of far out of the rifle, compared to cdi... your opinion?

Another +1, the long support surface minimizes magazine movement without needing to be tight, and the release is the best I've used. I inletted one of mine with a drill press and a Dremel, although I did kill one Dremel on the aluminum bedding block.

I think that is an advantage for the Surgeon and PTG. You can push the rifle up against stuff and not worry about torquing the magazine.

It does hang out quite a bit (I can post a picture of mine later, i'm away from home currently) but I like the look, plus as previously stated, it doesn't put torque on the magazine.

+1 on the PTG bottom metal. Inexpensive, fits the popular Badger M5 pattern inlet, feeds smoothly, especially if the person who beds your stock tweaks things a little bit to get the height of the rounds just right in relation to the action.
