Ok, so I am going to take the plunge soon and get a DBM for my 700LA. I am pretty OCD when it comes to knowing all I can before I make a purchase like this. There are so many options, and I am on a budget, BUT, I do want to support a US company, so Atlasworx is out. I will go as far as $200 but before I pour out some coin here is what I know. I need one for a long action. My question is mags. From what I have learned, most of these setups are made to accept AICS mags. Those are pricey, and I see that there is a company (Alpha) that makes AICS compatable mags, a bit cheaper. I checked them out and it looks like they only do SA and SA magnums. No Long actions? Or have I missed something. I also read somewhere that some type of Ruger mags will work, is that a SA only thing too? Any other places make mags more affordable than AICS? BTW, I am split between the CDI or PTG. I am still saving for now. So it will be some time before I make the purchase.

Check out Seekins Precision. Budgets are hard to stick to in this game. I'd save a few more dollars to get something that will work long-term.

I'm using a Surgeon on my current build. I like the mag release better than the Badger type. Stiller makes a decent looking one as well if you like the longer mag release. The AI mags are good shit. I don't see that you can save a lot by going with the Alpha mags. DBM's all pretty much do the same thing. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.
