I just ordered a DD 18" s2w and was wondering if anyone had any time behind one. What kind of accuracy kind i expect? I bought it because it was in stock and took a middy gas tube unlike my rainier ultra that requires an intermediate tube. Finding an intermediate is a lot like trying to find a needle in a hay stack... I am putting this upper together for a 3-gun rifle, thanks in advance for any opinions.

I have one waiting to be assembled into an upper, obviously haven't shot it yet. There are very few reviews on them anywhere, most I've seen are at m4c. There are two versions of this barrel, the original chrome-lined one and the later nitride-treated one, both are CHF and same profile. The few reviews suggest 1 MOA accuracy or so, I don't remember enough details to give much meaning to that.

Nobody? These must be fairly new as I cannot find any info on them anywhere...

I've finally taken the time to assemble a new upper with one. If the storms stop I might actually get out to test it before Fall.

I can tell you the DD barrel steel is some hard stuff to dimple. Save yourself some frustration and buy cobalt bits with a 135 degree tip for that job.

I was surprised that DD didn't dimple these in the factory, given that they are sold as component barrels for home assembly. I have a DD clamping low-profile gas block waiting for mine.
