These are about the only thing in stock at silencer shop, I’ll be running them on a bolt gun 95% of the time. Would the L be better for me than the shorter S?

For the Sandman series I'd go S before L. The Sandman-L is just a little too long IMO. I have an old Sandma-Ti which is basically the Sandman-L minus the Key-Mo system and it is a perfect direct thread bolt gun suppressor. Unfortunately they have stopped making it now that the Nomad-30 and Nomad-L are available. Both of those are currently in stock BTW and I'd grab either one of those for a bolt gun over a Sandman-S:These are about the only thing in stock at silencer shop, I’ll be running them on a bolt gun 95% of the time. I was in the same boat a few months ago. Sandman was exactly what I wanted, until I did deep deep research.
Very educational.

Nomad-30, and it will be fine on AR's as long as you don't get it super hot, and moderate your shot times. These are about the only thing in stock at silencer shop, I’ll be running them on a bolt gun 95% of the time. Would the L be better for me than the shorter S?
I talked to DA, and the Sandman Ti is still in production, it's just in the works of more production right now, and it's not really on their priority list, as it's not their most popular can. Dead Air Nomad-L
The Dead Air Nomad L is the lengthened version of the popular Dead Air Nomad-30.www.silencershop.com
Good to know. I bet they haven't made very many Sandman-Ti's since the Nomad-30 released in Jan 2019. It's a great can and was going for an amazing price point (~$700) when I snagged one in Oct'17. If it was still readily available I might not have bought a Nomad-30 which is also a great DA suppressor.I talked to DA, and the Sandman Ti is still in production, it's just in the works of more production right now, and it's not really on their priority list, as it's not their most popular can. When I ordered my cans, I was going to get one of them, as well... But they were sold out. Luckily the brand new Nomad-LT had dropped earlier that day, so I was able to buy one of those...But it was almost twice the price @ $1,099 MSRP... That one hurt the old wallet. many a moon ago I was in the same place. I went with the L. I wish I had gone with the S. I mean we all like quieter, I mean thats why we buy them. But shorter would have been preferred. Its long as shit on my 14.5 ar. Having said that. My Rem CSR shooting subs is movie quiet. I couldnt be happier with it on my bolt guns and thats where it lives. But its nice that I can put it on ANYTHING i want thats within its cablier restrictions. So my can is setup to work on every single one of my rifles. These are about the only thing in stock at silencer shop, I’ll be running them on a bolt gun 95% of the time. For some reason I’m just leaning towards the L. I only have 1 AR currently. Always prefer my bolt guns, and hunting or matches will be shot from a bipod or tripod, so the extra weight seems null at this point. I have a very strong feeling the day after I pick up the L, I’ll probably be ordering another can anyways lol. If I get another, it’ll probably be a omegamany a moon ago I was in the same place. Hard to replace that flexibility if youre a one rifle can man.
Getting the modularity can get super expensive. I chose the Nomad because I already have Area419 hellfires on all of my rifles including bolt and gas guns. So now i just have to pick up the suppressor mounts for each new can. Those run around $90 a piece, but the last one I pulled off here for $70. I keep waiting on them to make more of their Titanium mounts to use with my inevitable NomadTi or LT order. But even just starting out I think the Hellfire route would be much cheaper than going KeyMo. I usually pick up extra adapters during their Black Nitride Friday event.I’ve read a lot of people saying nomad on other forums but this will be swapped around on 3 rifles, so I don’t want direct thread. And seems that by the time I get the key mo, and brake... it’s hundreds more than the sandman.. so the nomad doesn’t seem appealing to me at all?

How do you like the Ebrakes? I ordered a couple to use when I am shooting a 300WM bolt gun. Just wondering how much it actually helps.Have both. I run L on my bolt guns. As mentioned, can't notice much difference between the two and I prefer to have the lower db on bolt guns. I did add an ebrake on the S and they are about the same length now and the nomad sized ebrake keeps the suppressor cover from sliding forward. Using Area419 hellfire adapters so I can swap out whatever I want and across manufacturers (TBAC, SiCO, etc)
Can't go wrong with a Nomad either, or really any Dead Air can though.
Better suppressor than the Sandman, but the Sandman is tougher and can handle extreme abuse from the full Stellite baffle stack and stainless steel tube. But the Nomad is a better "generic" suppressor for using on multiple different types of weapons.I’ve read a lot of people saying nomad on other forums but this will be swapped around on 3 rifles, so I don’t want direct thread. I’m trying to figure up a cheaper route for me than the sandman, I have 3 bolt guns and an AR that this would go in, the AR the least. All the rifles have a brake, so I can’t see using DT because who wants to take off their favtory brakes to use direct thread? I figured I’d just buy 2 more brakes for the sandman and that still doesn’t cost what the keymo does for the nomad ?Better suppressor than the Sandman, but the Sandman is tougher and can handle extreme abuse from the full Stellite baffle stack and stainless steel tube. I went with a Nomad-LT, and bought a KeyMo for it, and brakes for my AR's. And yes, it's expensive, but the fact it can be mounted in DT config for precision rifles and accept a KeyMo is worth it. The Sandman is KeyMo only, and you still have to factor in buying brakes for ALL your rifles now, instead of just some. I'd say in the long-run to run a Sandman on everything would actually cost you more, because those brakes and flash hiders at $100 each.
Got an Ebrake for my L. got the sandman version so its the same diameter as my can. Honestly I cant tell a difference. at all. I read somewhere it can assist in less gas blow back on gas guns. also couldnt tell a difference. not one bit. It looks cool, if youre into making your can look cool by adding length to it. Ive taken mine on and off probably a half dozen times and at this point doubt Ill ever put it on there again. How do you like the Ebrakes? there is a slight difference in how the L and S sound. and if you search hard enough on youtube theres some videos that allow you to hear that difference. The L has more low midrange sound vs S has slightly higher frequencies. That was ultimately what made me pick the L after listening to the two over and over.I keep going back and forth, back and forth! I really wish the nomad didnt end up $350 more than the sandman after the keymo and a brake is added to it.
Most people tell me not to get the L due to its length and wait but I keep getting drawn to it. I'd dive on the nomad L but not at $350 more than the sandman L. I just dont see it being THAT much better
A KeyMo is $250... Each brake is $100. Yea, but I read a lot of posts where everyone says the nomad is cheaper option.... and it is, if left in DT, but not much cheaper. $30.A KeyMo is $250... Each brake is $100. However that works out for you, is up to you.![]()

sandman s $849, thats keymo and brake.
Nomad $819, +250 +100, and you’re at $1,169.....
Is the nomad really that much quieter than the sandman
Or the new Dead Air XENO mount setup...correct. or by the sandman to area 419 conversion and buy area 419 hellfire adapters.
Even though the Sandman is Pappas' baby, and the Nomad is Todd MaGee's baby, even Mike says that the Nomad line is a better sounding and quieter can.I keep going back and forth, back and forth! No, but it does on the Nomad. Sandman is KeyMo only so it really limits your mounting options.xeno doesn't work on sandman.
I also personally don't understand the desire for xeno other than it's 'new'.
Use high-quality headphones as well, for best results on how they actually sound, not just how loud they are. Good headphones also will allow you to actually hear a small variation in decibels, as well. I use Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro's for music recording, so I already had them on-hand.Never tested anything against the dead air cans to see how they compare, but the research I did prior to buying seemed like the dead air cans might not read lower on a db meter but to the ear they had a lower frequency and that comment was pretty consistent between the videos and reviews I saw.
Do yourself a favor and watch a couple videos where they put several cans in a test and see how much difference there is between them.

The desire is it looks 90% like a standard A2 birdcage, so it doesn't require timing. It has left-hand threads, so that means it tightens in the direction the rifling is spinning the bullet, instead of opposite, like right-hand threads. Therefore, the internal gasses spinning inside of the can while the bullet passes through will not cause it to loosen up from shooting.
