Suppressors Dealer/Form 3 question

So I recently ordered a suppressor from silencer shop through their direct program. They have told me that they have done the form 3 and that the can will be sent to a dealer that is roughly 8 hours from my home.

Does anyone know if there is a way to have that dealer do a form 3 and send it to a dealer closer to me while it is awaiting approval? I know there are a number of shops closer but I was told that this was the only one participating in the silencer shop direct program. If anyone has any ideas or advice please let me know. Thanks.

The original dealer could form 3 it to your dealer but not until he gets it from Silencer Shop. Then your going to have to wait another month or so till that form 3 is approved and your dealer receives it before you can do your form 4. Question is is it worth the wait to save you the drive.

With the silencer shop direct program, they send the form 4 for you as soon as the form 3 clears. I guess if there is no other option I will be taking the drive. Just wish I had been told that there were no shops closer prior to the form 3 being submitted. If they cant send it to another dealer in the future I will likely not use them again.

They have been great with comms and have answered all the questions ive had, but I cant drive 8 hours to go pick these up each time. Especially when it will likely be winter and driving further north will push the trip to 10+ hours.

Yeah, I figured that out shortly after I posted this thread. Looks like ill have a nice scenic drive to think about how nice this new suppressor will be.

What state are you in? Apparently not all states allow direct shipping of NFA items, but some do, or at least some dealers do. Texas dealers mail cans to individuals. And I have heard of dealers in diff states mailing cans to other dealers and then that dealer doing a 4473 to the individual... All after an approved Form 4 of course.

As suggested previously, I do not believe a Form 3 can be executed on an item that is on an approved Form 4.

Im in Idaho. I will look into whether or not it can be directly shipped once approved on the form 4 or sent to another dealer to do the 4473.

Either way Im looking forward to getting this in and jumping into suppressed precision shooting.
