Join the contest SubscribeI dig this, any pics of it complete?3rd try is the charm. I didn’t like my store bought stencils so I did the sponge camo. It looked too busy to me. I wanted a large contrasting pattern and I didn’t want the same old thing. I looked at a bunch of different camo jobs online and borrowed a few ideas then made my own stencils with Frog Tape. It still has an Aervoe base coat with Krylon Fusion (flat black and arctic grey) on top. When it fully cures I’ll take some 0000 steel wool to it and get rid of some overspray spots and smooth the ridges between colors. Then I’ll clear coat it with something and be done.

I would pull the BCG and tape off the trigger. Everything else should be fine if you put on light coats. When y’all rattle-can an AR, do you pull the BCG/trigger/etc or just let it rip? Any particular spots to avoid paint getting into?
Ive got one AR I want to give it a go with, as well as an all black MPA chassis that could use some personalization while it waits for the barreled action.
Easy enough, thanks.I would pull the BCG and tape off the trigger. Everything else should be fine if you put on light coats.
What NF and reticle ?My M40 I did when I was in Japan. Used cheap government generic brand spray paint with no clear coat. Doest last long but wears pretty well. It's funny how I wouldn't hesitate to paint my guns in the military but now when I own my own rifle I sit on the fence about it.
