Wondering what works good for shooting the .338 lapua at 1700-2000 yards? I was thinking to go with scenars since they are made by Lapua. But I've been hearing a lot of good things about the Bergers so I'm undecided at this point.

I have shot both Lapua 300gr bullets and also the 300gr Berger and 300gr Sierra`s. Had good luck with all but Berger gets my vote. Your rifle will tell ya what it likes.

I wish I had the time and patience to fully give the Bergers a test, but I've invested alot of time in developing loads for and testing/comparing 250 vs 300 Scenars. The Scenars do have the edge on SMKs for BC if I recall correctly. They are also more expensive too.

As far as results, the best I ever achieved was 4 of 5 hits on 24x24 steel at 1780 yards with the 300 Scenar. And the 4th nicked the top of the steel so it's almost half of a hit. We have complex canyon winds where we shoot so I haven't been able to repeat that performance, maybe this coming year.
