I’ve been shooting 300 Norma Magnum using Norma brass and have achieved good, consistent results.

However, I’ve seen many shooters praising Lapua brass, mentioning better durability, tighter consistency, and more reload cycles.

Right now, Lapua brass is nearly 3.25 times the price I’m currently paying for Norma.

For those who’ve tried both, do you feel Lapua brass significantly improves performance or brass longevity enough to justify such a steep price difference?

I’m especially curious about real-world experiences in terms of case life, consistency, accuracy, and any measurable improvements you’ve noticed.

PS: I used Alpha or Lapua for all other cartridges and using Norma first time with 300 Norma Mag

Thanks for your input!

I have used both for 300 WM with a long throat and loaded between 300WM and 300NM velocties....2960 with 215 Bergers. The Norma is good brass. The Lapua is more consistent in length and primer pocket depth....easily remedied with the Norma. Load wise I get virtually the same concentricity and similiar velocity with both loads shooting tight groups and solid at a mile. The Lapua primer pockets stay tight longer. If you have plenty of Norma don't switch. Starting new I would probably go Lapua. The Norma is a bit softer brass in my experience. No way Lapua is worth 5x though.

Thanks.

Raven rock has a lot at very good price (80c vs. Lapua 2.60, so not 5X 3.25 times). May be I will stock up big time.
