I killed this doe this past Monday a.m. Nothing fancy other than the exit wound. She was quartered towards me. Shot was placed on shoulder and exited mid ways through her ribs. She was 60 yards away and I shot her w/ my .308 168 grain Remington Match ammo. The exit hole is the diameter of two fists and her entrails and stomach were hanging out of her side...nice! It was pretty nasty to clean but the meat is in the freezer. She weighed about 95 lbs.
Secondly is a bobcat I took this morning. I was sitting in the stand and I saw a couple deer. After they fed through I got down to head to the house. I decided, on the way out, to go check an old scrape line that I had found. While at the scrapes a deer blew at me. I froze...out of the corner of my eye I saw some movement. It was a bobcat. I was kneeling and I had my rifle at the ready. The bobcat stopped 7 yards from me. We were both frozen...looking at each other for about a minute (it felt like an eternity). After he realized something was "off" he slowly turned to leave, which afforded me the opportunity to take my shot. Obviously, he dropped from the .308.
What amazed me was how close he got to me. Normally they are very skidish. I guess I was in the right place at the right time. Hope you guys enjoy the pics. Have a good one.
