Defiance Machine vs. Nesika?

Having a custom .338LM built. I have narrowed down my choice for the action to either a Defiance Machine/Rebel or the Nesika M-Tactical.

Who has either and what do you like about them? Any insight as to pros/cons for either would be appreciated.

Don't forget to look hard at the Surgeon XL for the big Chalupa !

I have a surgeon XL action and it is one heavy built unit. Very good quality.

Go for the defiance. I had a nesika tactical action along with 4 of my friends. Shot amazing but had issues with soft metals and galling. I went though 3 bolts and 2 actions. Ended up with a surgeon instead. Everyone of the 8-10 actions had to be replaced or had a new bolt. Like I said, gun shot awesome but I shouldn't have to replace the action before the barrel.

Surgeon has a 6 month to indefinite lead time. I would go with defiance. Same footprint as the surgeon. Available in 5-8 WEEKS. Not months!

A friend had his last Defiance in 10 days. They are sweet actions. The .338 Lapua actions are a Remington 700 foot print unlike most others which are larger diameter. They do have a .750" bolt but run 1 1/16x16 threads like a Remington too.

The guy who Runs Defiance, Glen Harrison was the founder and past owner of Nesika.

Thanks for the reports/info. I have considered Surgeon XL but there is an 8-10 month wait. D.M and Nesika are 4 months or less.

Looks like Defiance Machine is favored over the Nesika Action.

I'm running a Defiance Rebel but not in the action size you'd need....can't beat it! Also they usually have quite a few actions ready to ship ASAP- check their web site. If what you need is on the list you can have it in a matter of a few days...I love mine and will probably end up wih more.

I have an original Nesika and Mike and Glen were nice guys to deal with. Dakota Arms seemed to destroy anything they touched. They even bought out small caliber news and that never came back. I heard the guys from Nesika really got screwed and lost a ton of CNC equipment out of it.

I have two of each and I'd say my Nesika's are a touch smoother. Its close though, both are excellent.
