Gunsmithing Defiant deviant bolt modifications.

Hello,
I am new to your board but have been directed to this site many time over the years when doing an internet search. I have just ordered a new action from Defiant machine it is there deviant hunter. I am putting together another 338 Lapua. I would like to know if anyone has modified the bolt to incorporate a three position safety. Brownell's sell a conversion kit and I have installed one on my Remington 338 lapua. I'm trying to order my Jewell trigger and would like to get it without safety or bolt release. I have spoke with the folks at Defiant and they could not give me a solid answer on that. Any solid information would be greatly appreciated.

Looking at doing the exact same thing. You can have the action wo the safety cut. You can also request a 45 degree cocking piece pin from Defiance. PTG also makes a 700 safety kit. Ed Lapour makes excellent 3 pos kits for other applications. He might be willing to help. Ask the guys at PTG. They're great. Report back!
