Has anyone tried any of the meals from Wise, or Lindon Farms?? I've tried Mountain House, but they are damn expensive compared to the others. Just wondering if they taste like crap or otherwise.
I have tried a couple different brands (I can't remember which ones) but I stick with mountain house despite the price. I have found the cheaper ones are usually really bland and the "natural" ones were the worst. I recommend just simple hearty meals from mountain house, my favorite is the spaghetti & meat sauce and the beef stew.
...you can split them and put them into smaller zip lock bags and some hunters add potato buds(flakes) to their MH meals to stretch them out some. Taste pretty good.
Mountain house for sure took 4 different kinds on a 2 week sheep hunt this yer and went back to the mountain every time just plain better tasting . Worth the price difference IMO
I have tried the wise and have some for emergencies. They are pretty bland...salt and your favorite spices help. I recently stumbled upon a guy on youtube making homemade dehydrated meals, and have to say they are pretty good.
Look up Mr.babelfish5 and check out a few. Its cheaper to diy and you know whats in it.

If that doesn't just make up you mind then nothing will.
And I thought me doing a 5 consecutive week "in country" stint was pushing it.
