+1 for the POF. You'll find both lovers and haters of POF and LWRC. It really comes down to personal preference and if you really want to spend (a lot) more money for the LWRC when (I've heard) the POF performs every bit as good. No, I havent handled or fired an LWRC. For me, however, it's POF all the way.
The SCAR is a battle rifle and the LWRC is a precision rifle. That should be explanation enough.

I like the REPR left side charging handle. It is unlike the AR style and perhaps unique. I have not handled the POF nor the SCAR. I am sure they are fine rifles. LWRC is close to a custom gunsmith and have been excellent to work with. The fit and finish are at the top of the charts. Do you care about barrel length and piston vs DI?

I can drive my REPR sub MOA with 175 grn pills. a lot of unique features come on this stick... and scars have many features as well but the reciprocating charging handle is a no go for me. The REPR's action feels like it's on ball bearings.

Okay...so you are considering two very different rifles (FN SCAR 17S vs LWRC REPR) and now, with the recommendations of others, you seem to have thrown the POF and the Larue OBR into the mix.
All of these rifles are solid and capable in the hands of a skilled shooter with proper ammo, etc. The question comes down to WHAT DO YOU NEED/WANT FROM THE RIFLE?!?!
Knowing what your plans are for the rifle, the type of shooting you'll be doing, the ammo you want to run, the demands/expectations you have for accuracy, the ranges you want/need to shoot, optics or irons, etc., etc., etc. will help to determine "which one is better and why?"

In that case, be sure to pick up one of the US government overrun Counter Sniper scopes and perhaps a laser and flashlight to have mounted on the side. They even have a pistol holster that mounts to the picatinny rail. All of that sounds like it will be your style.

I'm not military or LE. I already have a shotgun for home defence.
I just want a cool .308 hunting rifle that can double as carbine .

Well now...that makes things easier. I suggest that you head on over to AR15.com and spend some quality time over there. Plenty of opinions that will be more in line with what you are looking for and what you need to do with the rifle(s) in question.
