I am former USAF... If I were involved in any combat, I wouldve had to throw a crescent wrench at them. I never understood why my uniforms were BDU? They should have been black so all the jet engine oil wouldve blended. I worked on F15s. I was a mechanic.. I was part of the mission but to equate what I did to people out on convoys, DA's, and raids would be absolutely silly. Basic training was easier than most of my soccer practices in high school. I shot more rounds in 1 month on the weekends in shorts and drinking beer than I did in my entire service in uniform. Lol. Unless you are a PJ saving lives and returning fire, dropping bombs (pilot), calling in those birds dropping bombs (CCT or TACP), or sweeping dirt roads finding or disarming bombs (cops while deployed or EOD), then you didnt have to embrace the suck.
