I'm new to reloading as I just took the plunge beginning of this year .
Started with 9mm and that has worked out better than I could have ever imagined . Now I'm prepping my first load of .223 brass and near every case has a dent . The majority are consistent and I beliwve from my AR's brass deflector . My question is , does any dent in a case mean that it's no good ?
I read Reloading Handbook as suggested for where to start and it says to inspect brass for damage and dents . Is there a curve . Here is a pic . What do you think .

    Alpha,

Not only will you see dents and dings from an AR, but in some bolts too, with stout ejectors. Sometimes the brass slaps the inside of the receiver upon extraction, and the case mouth turns into a half moon shape. Those particular dents will smooth out a little bit thru the F/L sizer, and will certainly disappear with a firing. Although, it will probably reappear again if used in the same AR. Try playing with your gas setting too. Might be a little over gassed

If it will make you feel any better that little dent will go away as soon as you reload and pull the trigger. As said above, unless its so bad that it causes chambering issues you should be GTG.
