I wonder though...
I wonder how truthful she is being. If fact is she losing money?
Maybe not. She says they are not there to make money right now, they are there to help people. But, is that 500 dolla lost there, get her 1500 over there.
She must be bringing far more people to her property than before.

Fuel isn’t a money maker at convenience stores. Beer and cigarettes is where owners make their money.

And Slim Jim's, Gatorade, and all the shit you can buy for half as much at the grocery. You pay for 'convenience'.
And, if it is a small independent operation, they may be sourcing that from a grocery store- or Sams, or Costco. When I was working in a convenience store, we had distributors for sodas, beer, and fuel. Everything else was sourced from the local supermarket or Sams Club.
