Sometimes I have the impression that Riflesmiths are from another planet, people difficult to communicate with and a little out of sync.
18 months ago I ordered a custom made rifle from a well known German Riflesmith. A more or less straight forward rifle, nothing exotic so to say. 308W short action, Lothar Walther barrel and a RCS stock. No difficult obtainable items I thought, anyhow all stuff is advertised on the owners WebShop. What I have is the promise that the rifle would be ready before Christmas (that was last years Christmas) but it's almost Christmas again and still no rifle. Would 18 months be a reasonable delivery time or should I have more patience? On Sniper's Hide forum I read messages posted by happy people who ordered and received from the same Riflesmith, I wonder how long they had to wait.

Re: Deutsche grundligkeit

Totally depends on the smith. Some have a VERY long wait time and you can see some of the thread hear. AKA uuh dang can't find it but the guy was waiting for years and when he finally got it, it was really bad.
Comes down to research. You need to really check out a place for wait times and quality and judge by those
