I bedded a rifle last spring, and didn’t use all the Devcon. I resealed the containers, even putting a layer of plastic in between the lid and the container to help seal. I go to use it this week and I can’t get the Devcon to harden. The Devcon and the Hardner look to be the same consistency and color when I first opened it. How long does the stuff last?

If you keep it refrigerated it lasts a long time. I bedded a rifle a month ago with some devcon I first bought and opened probably about 9 years ago. I keep it in the refrigerator and use some once every year or so.
In my limited experience with epoxy of different kinds, too much hardener would not do that.
For a sling stud just try two ton or basic two part epoxy.

Agreed on the temp control. I’ve had stuff for 4-5 years and it’s still good. Standard Devcon, titanium, and Pro bed acryglass
I figure the resin is the cheapest part of the bedded action setup.
What I don't use, I discard; precisely because of the issue you''re relating here.
Start new, every time.
Pampering partial remainders is, to me, like putting a band-aid on a stuffed animal; a waste of band aids.

The large containers of Devcon are around $75. You'd be throwing about $65 of epoxy in the trash, worth saving, IMO.
I've noticed the same thing on Devcon. The closer to the expiration date it gets, the longer it takes to cure. It will eventually harden, but it might take a day instead of 6hrs. I emailed their tech line and they basically said what I was reporting wasn't possible. I only had a little left at that point, so I threw it away and bought new. So far this has been fine.

I'm guessing that the larger quantity packaging is intended for users who do a lot of bedding jobs, and that economic model matches up with their actual needs, where a service is provided for pay that supports the expenses incurred.
Otherwise, like buying large quantities of a perishable product without sufficient applications in sight, they may be false economy.
