Sidearms & Scatterguns Diamondback DB9

Diamond back was recently acquired by Taurus, I work at a store that carries them and we have sold a few so far. One of which has gone back for repair twice. I personally would save up a little more and buy something nicer
I have the DiamondBack .380 and it jams quite a bit. Had to pay out the ass to send it in and would not get reimbursed, although they did give me a free magazine. It came back and still jams on me. I am hoping that the more I shoot it the more it gets broke in.
You might as well have recommended a Smith J frame.
I say this because the shield, while a fine pistol, is not a valid comparable to the DB9.
The DB9 is as small as a 9mm gets, with the exception of the Rorhbaugh R9, and is minimalist. It recoils a lot. The one I played with was reliable, at least for the ~100 rounds I put through it. NOT a good test, but enough to say it doesn't "jam all the time".
I agree that most people would be well advised to save more money and get something better, but the DB9 does provide something others don't - at nearly any cost. That is a minimalist, lightweight, true "pocket" 9mm.
Don't run +p ammo though them. They break.
We own a DB9, it is small, light, the recoil is far from objectionable, its quite accurate considering what it is, has usable sights, and one of the best trigger pulls I've felt on a gun so small. Its a gun I want to love, but I don't. It had issues within 50rnds, isolated it to the recoil spring which had uncoiled and slipped over the recoil "cap", not wanting to send it of I turned the spring around, it made it around 100 more, started up again and had done the same thing. I contacted DB, pleasant folks they shipped a new RSA without hearing all the symptoms, they know full well the guns have rather serious problems, and what they are, but they wait until they fail to address them. Since installing the RSA its got another 100-150rnds on it, flawless so far. I'm willing to let my wife carry it, since she picked it for that purpose, likes shooting it and does well with it, but it gets an in depth inspection after ever range trip, trigger and slide breakage having been known problems with the pistol.
