I just mounted a new Bushnell 6-24x50 FFP and put the sun shade on it but put it in a little too tight and when I tried to take it back off I noticed it was spinning the first 2 rings on the scope off as well so I looked inside and I noticed the glass was spinning with it so I just tightened it back up and thought I was fine but then remembered about how the scopes are nitrogen filled and sealed so I was wondering if this was enough to break that seal? I probably got 2 full turns on it max before I realized and tightened back up.

You wont be able to tell if you lost any gas unless it fogs up on the inside.

The real problem is not whether or not you broke the gas seal, it is that you moved the objective lens out and probably changed the parallex on the scope. Doesn't matter that you screwed it back, sometimes only a few thousandths of an inch can cause you to not be able to to get your image parallex free. Send it in to get repaired and re-collimated, just tell them what happened and you should be fine, the objective lens assembly should not loosen up that easily.

I ask because I experience something similar on my 2.5-16x42. I was removing the sunshade after it had been on there a while and noticed that the front most ring on the objective housing and the little ring with the bushnell text was coming with it. I threaded the sunshade and the ring off and found some dried thread locker which obviously didnt do its job. Anyways it appeared to me that the lens itself was secured internally and it never moved nor was any seal compromised . I put it all back together and snugged it up gently. I havent had a problem or noticed any performance difference since. This happened for me about a year ago. I dont know for sure if my observations are correct, or if your scope is constructed exactly the same way. I thought it may help though.

That sucks cause i just freaking got the the scope yesterday in the mail. does anyone know how Bushnell's warranty is? Cause it says in the literature Limited Lifetime and does not include mishandling or installation. i just imagine if i send it in that they will pull that card and then i am screwed.

Yes because when i turned it i could actually see the glass moving down inside the objective end.

Understand that "nitrogen purged" does not mean "nitrogen pressurized" as long at the outside atmosphere did not enter the scope housing you should be fine. I would be concerned with making sure the rings are locked and sealed correctly.
That is why I suggest calling them. Unscrewing a sunshade is hardly "mishandling".

I called Midway today they are who i purchased it from and they said to just send it back to them and they would replace it for me because it is considered defective so i am sending it back to them Monday morning. You cant Beat that kinda customer service. By the Bushnell wasn't open until Monday to call

The folks at Midway are a CLASS act. They have taken care of me 2 times on defective products. They even paid all the shipping to return the item.

As a good buddy of mine says, you always have to pay for education. In your case, it will be in shipping fees and lost time. Bushnell might be kind enough to email a shipping label to you...

I sent the scope off to midway yesterday and they said they were going to reimburse me for the shipping as well. They are amazing!!! Now it is just a waiting game. This couldn't have come at a worse time cause I had my first 1day training course a week from Sat and now I don't know if my scope will be back in time. I migh just have to use my old one but it is MIL/MOA and the new one is MIL/MIL and i was hoping to be able to train on it.

So the story gets even better
I just received a new replacement scope from Midway today and took it out of the box the first thing i check is the sun shade..... Guess what wont screw on, you guessed it the sun shade so i am like are you freakin kidding me. Upon further inspection there is an ever so slight flat spot on the objective bell which prevents the sun shade from being able to screw on. It looks as if some one slightly dented it during assembly because there is no visible damage to the box or packaging. i hate to be a pain in the ass but for $1000 dollars i expected better than this.
Update: Called Midway and like always they are great to deal with, and are exchanging the scope for me and covering the shipping costs. unfortunately they wont expedite the shipping any and wont ship it out until they receive mine which sucks but such is life.
