The born fucked up thing has trended for decades. What that coincides with is anyones guess. Some argue it’s just better diagnosis.
I think it follows largely with the mass adoption of plastic. Plastic plates, cups, bottles, things we touch, blankets, carpet, even clothes are plastic or contain plastic these days. I don’t mean plastic buttons, either, I’m talking about the fabric.
Now it’s in your soaps, some medicine, creams, lotions, the list goes on.
At this point it’s so bad it’s in most municipal water supplies.
Studies are questionable, and I can’t even recall where I read this one as it’s been years… but I read a study that estimated if you drank one glass of water a day that over the course of a year you’d consume the equivalent of roughly a plastic grocery bag.
It’s not like generational doom and gloom is anything new. I’m sure the generations past thought their time was different much as we do. Sure does feel like we’re in a free fall, though.
