I am about to spring for a SWFA SS and am wondering what the difference is. I obviously understand one is in the rear and one is on the side, but which is more sought after or "better"? What are the pros and cons to each. Thanks, im looking to make the right decision one time.

Re: difference between rear focusing and side focusing

Economy of motion, thats about it, a side focus is easier to manipulate while shooting in most positions. From what I understand, side focus is harder to design/produce than an erector system with a rear or objective focus, I'm not a optics plumber so I cant confirm, but it makes sense.
