buddy of mine just did one and found that it's not very difficult...if you have the proper tooling. All he has is an inexpensive drill press and xy vice...not the best setup to complete the project but it works.
You'll want to get the jigs, high quality bits and a heavy duty drill press...best if you have access to a milling machine.
If you're wanting a project, great or if you don't want to fill out a 4473 not a bad option. But if you're trying to save some money, it's not going to happen for one or two....maybe if you were to do 10 of them you could save some money.
I'll be working on mine in the next couple weeks...I'll let you know then. To be honest, I'm not foreseeing any issues...but I've got some machining background.
