I have a arc archimedes short action and I'm wondering if I can use it without the picatinny rail? I'm considering mounting a Nightforce 2.5-10x24 on a .308 shorty and I'd like to get the scope lower than most rings will enable. Are there direct mounts that work with the exiting screw spacing? I'd measure myself but I'm out of the country. Thanks
